A champion based on DEF or HP is different if you want it to inflict damage.
Champions who give bonuses based on the number of HP or DEF (like Valkyrie) are no different.

Exceeding 4200 defense is not optimal, as at 4200 you already reach around -80 % damage reduction, bearing in mind that the maximum is 85 %.
Unless you apply a break defense, in which case you can go higher.

If you're new to the game, try playing only with the BLUE bar.
Then, when you've mastered the game and have a defense buff on your champions all the time, move up to the VIOLET bar.
