Guide to get started on Dokkan Battle:
Thanks Jérémy#6882 for this guide :).
To get started on DBZ Dokkan Battle:
Beginning :
Unlike many gacha games, Dokkan doesn't require a good start, so there's no need to reroll to get started. It's best to start during a celebration, but this is by no means mandatory. The game is generous enough for beginners. Once you've made your first SSR summon, you should start farming the story mode.
You'll need to farm the first few levels and start collecting crystal balls. Once you have all 7, you'll need to make a wish. The first priority is "I want more support," and the second is "I want more allies."
Then, you need to farm the levels slowly and not use dragon stones (ds). In fact, you need to use ds on large portals with good characters to build your first teams.
Example of two characters to summon: (super leader)
First teams :
If possible, your first team should be a super lead, or all, so that you can go on special as often as possible.
Example of a very good leader :
How to improve your characters :
Character enhancements :
There are several ways to build your characters: Improvement, awakening, dokkan awakening, special attack, and potential.
Improvements are made with different items: these are the red capsules found in the levels. There's no real need to farm them, as the game is very generous with them. However, if you do want to farm them, go to Events then Preparation, where you'll find Karin's training, which is very profitable.
Awakening is done with materials that are also available in levels. To perform an awakening, your character must be at maximum level, after which they will move up to the next rank (SSR moves to UR).
Dokkan awakening is performed using medals specific to each character (or almost). These events are more difficult than the rest of the game, so to succeed you will need a team that is fully awakened to the maximum level, as well as a very good friend character. To access them, go to Events then Challenges and select the corresponding level.
Example of medals:
The characters' special attacks are powered by "Old Kai," a very rare resource that should be used sparingly and only on the right characters.
The potential is available from rank 50. 55% of the potential is free. Potential is unlocked with duplicates, the box that gives the most stats is the one on the bottom right.
Some characters have a Z-TUR (which allows you to go from Dokkan Level 120 to Dokkan Level 140 and from Spec 10 to Spec 15). This Z-TUR can be farmed in the Battle Z event. It also increases the effects of passive skills.
Passive ability :
Passive abilities have a direct effect on the character or team, as they provide stats, ki (to start a special move), etc., but they usually have conditions (such as 2 or more enemies, etc.).
Example of a passive ability:
Different aids and summaries :
In terms of pure play Start each day by checking the recommended characters on the home screen to see if there are any good f2p SSRs to level up. Complete the daily missions and do the preparation levels every day! Advance as far as possible in story mode and collect as many DS (dragon stones) as possible. Buy magic beans, divine palaces, and any awakening materials you can from the exchange shop every day.
Character upgrades : Do not level up SSR, SR, R, and N characters that do not have Dokkan awakenings after UR in order to get them to level 120. Do not level up anyone's special abilities, as they are a rare resource. Check if a character has a special ability that can be farmed in F2P to avoid wasting characters. For Dokkan UR, the special skill levels up to level 10 and the level levels up to 120. For Z-TUR, the special skill levels up to level 15 (farmable up to level 10 for F2P characters) and level 140. For LR characters, the special skill levels up to level 20 and the level levels up to 150. Don't forget, Z-awakening materials can be found everywhere, while Dokkan awakening medals can be found in challenges (start -> Events -> Challenges). If they're not there one day, don't go to the Memory Gate, wait until they're available in ACT and not in keys. Attempt these levels when your team is at least full UR 100. You have 3 daily boosts to use wisely.
Characters and teams At first, try to start with a character who is a leader in all categories, or who covers as many categories or types as possible. When you have enough characters to make a category team, do it. You'll have more stats, more links, more damage, and a much easier spec to get. Always put the category leader first, and make sure your friend character is also a category leader. Be careful about the placement of your characters in rotations based on their passives and tankiness.
Detector animations : Krillin and Goku alone guarantee a detector. Ultimate Gohan with Piccolo and Goku guarantee a detector. Satan on Buu guarantees a Dokkan Fest or an LR, Trunks with Mai in his arms guarantees a Dokkan Fest or an LR. Fusion Vegetto Super Saiyan guarantees a Dokkan Fest, Fusion Vegetto SSJ Blue guarantees an LR. Whis and Beerus guarantee a Dokkan Fest (time travel), Goku Black's Flaw guarantees a Dokkan Fest. If, when you pull, the release is rainbow, it increases the chances of an SSR or Dokkan Fest. If, when you release, you hear "Korede Owarida," it's a guaranteed detector; if Zeno appears, you have a guaranteed LR. Transformation into SSJ God guarantees either 3 SSRs or a Dokkan Fest. If Goku does not transform, there are "bad guys" or "screen cracks" that guarantee a neutral SSR, but double cracks guarantee an LR or a Dokkan Fest. Switching in the summon guarantees an SSR detector.
I hope you find this guide useful.
