Beginning :
Unlike many gacha, Dokkan doesn't require a good start, so no reroll is needed to get started on dokkan. It's best to start with a celebration, but it's far from compulsory. The game is generous enough for beginners. Once you've done your first summoning with the ssr, it's time to start farming in story mode.
Then you'll have to farm the first levels and start collecting crystal balls. Once you've got all 7, you'll need to make a wish. The one to take first is "I want more support", the second is "I want more allies".
Then, you need to farm the levels slowly and not use dragon stones (ds). In fact, you need to use ds on large portals with good characters to build your first teams.

There are several ways to build your characters: Enhancement, awakening, dokkan awakening, special attack and potential.
Upgrading is done with various items: these are the red capsules found in the levels. You don't really need to farm them, as the game is very generous with them. If, however, you do want to farm them, there's Karin's training in Events then Preparation, which is very profitable.
Awakenings are made with materials also available in the levels. To make an awakening, your character's level must be at its maximum, and he will move up to the next rank (ssr changes to ur).
Dokkan awakening is performed with medals specific to each character (or almost). These events are more difficult than the rest of the game, and require a fully awakened team and a very good character friend. To access them, go to Events then Challenges and select the corresponding level.

Special character attacks are mounted with "Old Kai", a very rare resource that should be used sparingly and only on good characters.
The potential is available from rank 50. 55% of the potential is free. Potential is unlocked with duplicates, the box that gives the most stats is the one on the bottom right.
Some characters have a Z-TUR (which allows them to go from ur dokkan lvl 120 to ur dokkan lvl 140 and from spe 10 to spe 15). This ztur is farmed in Event, Battle Z. It also increases the effects of the passive.

Passive abilities have a direct effect on the character or the team: they give stats, ki (for spearheading) etc., but generally have conditions (if 2 or more enemies are involved, etc.).

In terms of pure play Start every day by checking the recommended characters at the reception desk to see if there are any good ssr f2p to ride. Do the daily missions and preparation levels every day! Get as far as you can in story mode and get as many ds (dragon stones) as you can. Buy every day as many magic beans, divine palaces and awakening materials as possible from the exchange store.
Character upgrades Don't mount ssr, sr, r and n that don't have dokkan awakenings after ur in order to pass level 120. Don't mount just anyone's spe, as it's a rare material. Check whether a character has a farmable spe in f2p to avoid wasting characters. For ur dokkan, the spe goes up to level 10 and the level goes up to 120. For Z-TUR characters, specs go up to level 15 (farmable up to level 10 for f2p characters) and level 140. For lr characters, speculation goes up to level 20 and level up to 150. Don't forget, z-awakening materials can be found everywhere, while dokkan awakening medals can be found in the challenges (start -> Events -> Challenges). If you don't find them one day, don't go to the Memory Door, wait until they're available as acts and not as keys. Try these levels when your team is at least full ur 100. You have 3 daily boosts to use wisely.
Characters and teams : In the beginning, try to start with an all-category leader character, or one that covers as many categories or types as possible. When you've got enough characters to make a category team, do so, and you'll have more stats, more links, more damage, and a much easier-to-get special. Always put the category leader first, and make sure your friendly character is a category leader too. Make sure you place your characters in the rotations according to their liabilities and tankiness.
Detector animations krilin and goku alone guaranteed a detector. gohan ultimate with piccolo and goku guaranteed a detector. Satan on buu guaranteed a dokkan fest or an lr, trunks with mai in his arms guaranteed a dokkan fest or an lr. fusion vegetto super sayan guaranteed a dokkan fest, fusion vegetto ssj blue guaranteed an lr. Whis and Beerus guarantee a dokkan fest (back in time), faille de goku black guarantees a dokkan fest. If at the moment of firing, the release is rainbow, this increases the chances of ssr or dokkan fest. If on release you hear "korede owarida" it's a guaranteed detective, if zeno appears you've got a guaranteed lr. transformation into ssj god guarantees either 3 ssr or a dokkan fest. If goku doesn't transform, "bad guys" or "screen cracking" guarantee a neutral ssr, but double cracking guarantees an lr or a dokkan fest. The switch in the invocation guarantees a detective ssr.
