Larva Tears are key items in Elden Ring. A Larva Tear is a material that Rennala needs to grant rebirth. Key items in Elden Ring include a wide variety of items found in specific locations or given by NPCs, which are used to unlock areas, quests, and advance the game's story. This substance is actually a living organism.

Material required by the Amber Egg cherished by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, in order to enable rebirth.

Rebirth is an opportunity to redefine the attributes you have increased by leveling up.

Larvae locations. Where to find the Larvae in Elden Ring.

In Limgrave:

Dropped by a Rune Bear disguised as a lone noble wielding a sword, directly east of Lake Agheel south of the site of grace.

In Liurnia des lacs :

Found in the Albinaurics Village cemetery.
Dropped by a grafted scion disguised as a giant crayfish patrolling around the lookout between Rose Church and Boilprawn Cabin. There are four Giant Crayfish in this area; three of them are sleeping and one is patrolling. The disguised grafted scion is the one patrolling. Easily accessible by going to:
- southward from the Fallen Ruins of the Site of Grace lake, or
- northeast of the Grâce Folly site on the lake or
- northwest of the grace site, Boiled shrimp shack
.
Located in the cemetery east of Caria Manor after obtaining the Resurrection Paint. This area can only be reached after defeating Royal Knight Loretta. The item can be found by touching a ghost sitting on a chair in the cemetery. The ghost disappears as soon as you touch it, and the Larva Tear appears on the ground, along with a cap and a juvenile scholar's robe.
Purchased from Pidia, a Carian servant, for 3,000 runes (only one available). You can reach her after defeating Royal Knight Loretta, then jumping from the cliffs on the southeast side of the Three Sisters sub-area onto a balcony.

In Caelid:

Left by a Troll disguised as a Noble wandering in Caelid, near the stone coffins on the cliff south of the Caelid Road Site of Grace. The disguised Troll is the one kneeling at the western end.

On the Altus Plateau:

Deposited by a Lion Guardian disguised as a wandering Noble, huddled in a corner of the unnamed ruins southeast of Windmill Village. The ruins lie at the top of the cliffs, and are best reached by heading north from the Chemin des Remparts grace site.

On Mount Gelmir:

Dropped by a Wormface disguised as a flaming putrid corpse, east of the Grace Site on the Road of Iniquity. The enemy is located near the first campfire in the ruins.

In the dedicated Snowfield :

Left by a Little Snow Bear disguised as a Noble Wanderer in the Sacred Snowfield. The disguised bear is half buried in the snow, with two nobles at its side. They are located southeast of the inner sacred snowfield of the Grace Site.

On the Siofra River:

Bought from the Nomad Merchant of the Siofra River, for 3,000 runes (only one available).

Nokron, Eternal City :

Found on a corpse inside the stone building southeast of the Nokron site of grace, Eternal City.
Found on a corpse in the middle of a lookout point in Nokron, Eternal City. As you approach the corpse, Silver Tears will fall from the ceiling.
Dropped by a silver sphere into the sacred Earth of the night.
Two (2) will be released by the Mimic Tear when it is defeated.

Nokstella, Eternal City :

Dropped by a silver sphere on the bridge of Nokstella, Eternal City.
Dropped by a silver sphere suspended from the ceiling in the northeast building after the bridge in Nokstella, Eternal City. You can damage it from a distance, but don't deliver the final blow while it's still on the ceiling, as the dropped item will be inaccessible.
Dropped by a silver sphere after the bridge and stairs, in the building immediately after reaching the top, in Nokstella, Eternal City. It hangs from the ceiling, dripping with silver tears.

How to use Larval Tear in Elden Ring?

Larval Tears are used to re-specify your character.

You don't need to defeat Rennala for enemies to change form when you kill them in their disguise.
Once you've fought Rennala, you should have enough runes to buy Tear Tears from the merchants mentioned above.
You'll keep all the Tears in your inventory when you enter New Game Plus.
Cannot be deposited as part of an exchange between players.
If the player gives Boc the dressmaker a Tear, he will visit Rennala, be reborn with a human face and die shortly afterwards. The player will not be able to call on his services for the rest of the game.
Although during online co-op, it appears that the player embodying a Doigt fourbu can collect Tears by knocking them out of the corresponding enemies, the collected Tears will be removed from the player's inventory when they return to their own world.
