FAQ : How do I use the healing potion in Elden Ring?
The healing potion is also known as the Purple Tear Vial in Elden Ring. It is the red vial in your inventory. The blue flask will help you replenish your HP. This flask can be upgraded and will replenish itself after resting at a Site of Grace. To use it, players must equip this item, which can be accessed using the D-pad on the controller. The Use Item button is usually the square button on the PlayStation or the X button on the Xbox.
Improved vials
Vial upgrades can be performed when you rest at a grace site. You should be able to access the Vial option, which will display more menu options and allow you to add charges to the vial, increase the amount refunded by the vials, and allocate charges to the vial. Gold seeds are required to add charges to your vial. Assigning charges to the vial will allow you to adjust the number of charges that will go into either the red vial or the blue vial.
Quick access to the vial
By default, to find your vial, you must browse through the items in your inventory displayed in the lower slot of your items, in the lower left corner of your screen. We recommend equipping the vial in your pouch so you can access it quickly. This will also allow you to assign the vial to the desired slot, which will also link it to a quick access button without having to browse through your inventory.
Vial of crimson tears: other notes
Whether your character is a mage or not, even with low Faith (such as 12 for Beastly Vitality), cerulean flasks are much more effective at healing HP than crimson flasks. However, crimson flasks heal much faster. With that in mind, a Faith dip is worth considering for any build as a way to increase flask usage.
Also known as the Red Vial. The Blue Vial is for FP.
