While the bulk of dwarf armies emphasize discipline, some stone children are far too savage in nature to serve in the ranks of the army. These snipers, often recruited from among the outcasts of dwarven society, are nonetheless useful. If they are savage, they are nonetheless fierce warriors. Slingers are one such unit: skirmishers recruited from the lowest castes of the kingdom, equipped with basic equipment and tasked with harassing the enemy. Far too unreliable to be given a powerful ranged weapon such as a crossbow, they are allowed to wield a ridiculous number of throwing axes. Yet in experienced hands, these axes become terrifying, as many enemies of the Mountain King have discovered.
