History of Madame Serris
Long ago, a woman lived in the capital of Aravia. Descended from a line of noble elves, she knew neither poverty nor want. Serris - as her loving mother had named her - was a perceptive child who greedily consumed whatever her private tutors could provide. It didn't take long for her magical abilities to manifest themselves, and for the young girl to receive an arcane education.
In time, Serris became a great magician. She was talented, daring and extremely intelligent. But no matter how hard she pushed her talents, it was never enough.
Her ultimate goal was simple, rudimentary even, but so desirable: eternal life and youth. And to achieve this, she immersed herself in forbidden traditions. Cautiously at first, wary of the horrors she might unleash.
But as the answer eluded her, Serris no longer counted the limits she had crossed. A less experienced practitioner of the dark arts would have been caught and banished long ago, if not worse, but Serris was always one step ahead of her potential persecutors.
Always kind and charismatic, she managed to trap several rivals and escape the consequences of her crimes. And so, as the years went by, she slowly pieced together small pieces of history, devising a ritual that she believed would give it an unalterable beauty.
This ritual required a great deal of preparation, exotic ingredients and, worst of all, the sacrifice of her own blood. In the darkest of nights, Serris gathered all the necessary reagents and set about preparing his marvellous elixir.
Unfortunately, all did not go according to plan. Just as Serris took a sip of his beverage, a great flash of light flashed through the chambers of his tower, setting them on fire and destroying centuries of knowledge.
Serris herself had been burned by the witches' flame and, although her body remained unharmed, her skin had taken on a greenish hue forever and her eyes were bright yellow. Thus scarred, she had no choice but to flee the capital, pursued by the Adjudicators and even the Templars of the Sacred Order.
Although her beauty had been preserved forever in this evil way, Serris soon realized that it was only a matter of skin. Her body would continue to wither and die if she didn't do something about it.
That's why Serris, who has taken on the title of Madame, now scours Teleria in search of a way to complete her project. Her mastery of magic is impressive, to say the least, and her lack of morals means that the witch is likely to ally herself with whomever she sees fit. As long as it suits her.
