History of Losan K'Leth

Before the Cult of K'Leth, there was the Temple of Bones. The followers of this Lumayan religion based in the Free City of Narbuk worshipped the bones of saints and heroes. They were denounced as practitioners of necromancy when the Red Crusaders launched their assault on Narbuk in search of Skinwalkers, Orcs, Ogryns, and Lizardmen. Many of them were killed, with the rest fleeing into Durham Forest or deep into the labyrinthine catacombs of Narbuk.

At that time, Losan K'Leth was a member of both the Sacred Order and the Temple of Bones. Ruthlessly ambitious, he sought to gain even more power. When the crusaders arrived in Narbuk, the religious politics of the Free City were in turmoil. In a whirlwind of deadly treachery, K'Leth was appointed Mage-Baron of the Temple. A fierce intellect, skilled interrogator, and powerful mage, he was later named leader.

One thing K'Leth hid from everyone around him was his chronic stomach condition. This condition and all his talents came into play during the Second Conclave of the Elves, in which he played a role as a member of the Sacred Order. There, he learned of the existence of the Awoken Dreamer from the Dark Elves, as well as how to contact him.

For hours, K'Leth talked with the awakened Dreamer... Siroth. The most essential knowledge he gained was that of soul transposition. With it, he could transfer his soul into a healthy body and do the same for anyone else. He used his new skills to buy the loyalty of the Temple of Bones in Durham Forest and Narbuk, and the Cult of K'Leth was born. He could offer everyone near-immortality, provided there was a host body into which to transfer their soul.

Nearly three hundred years later, the tentacles of the Cult of K'Leth have spread throughout Telaria, particularly in Anhelt. Although agents of Aravia and the Sacred Order have dismantled countless cells over the years, new ones spring up every year. K'Leth rules over his followers from a floating island fortress called Perdition, where he is safe from the efforts of his enemies to find and kill him.

K'Leth knows that to maintain his power, he must be seen and heard. His followers cannot be allowed to doubt his power, his devotion to them, and even less so his very existence. But how can this be achieved? Although few people except Giath Shield of Truth know it, he has undergone so many soul transpositions that he now exists only as a fragment of his former self. He is partly sustained by his own necromancy, an effort that puts him to the test every day.

Thus, K'Leth invented "Representation." He can magically pilot this fully enclosed and ornate plate and chain mail armor with perfect fluidity anywhere in the world by directing it mentally, while remaining safely in his private quarters on Perdition. He can see through the helmet's eye sockets in greater detail than he could with his own eyes, speak through the grille of his mouth with such power that it is impossible to ignore him, and hear the scratching of a mouse deep inside a transport ship spinning and creaking in a violent storm.

Countless magical protections are woven into the armor's metal layers, making it virtually immune to sorcery, and it has been meticulously forged to withstand the most violent blows: it could absorb the impact of a war stallion's charge. Furthermore, K'Leth magically crafted the Representation to be immune to the elements. It could spend a thousand years at the bottom of the sea without becoming any less durable or flexible.

It is essential that this armor be completely indestructible. K'Leth's piloting leaves a trace of his own essence inside it. If the Representation were ever broken, a skilled sorcerer could use it to discover his whereabouts.

The Representation is not only incredibly resilient. With it, K'Leth can crack a bull's skull with a single punch. It is strong enough to wield the Word, a huge, solid steel sword that serves not only as a weapon that K'Leth could use to decapitate a Krokhan rhino with a single blow, but also as a rallying banner for his cultists.

K'Leth has never needed Representation more. The Sect of Siroth of Bystophus has caused a rift within the very heart of the Cult. He has sent the vanguard of his Dawn Visitors to begin the process, but K'Leth must play his part. To make matters worse, rumors have reached K'Leth that the power of the "Grand Arcanist" Kelezar is intruding into the Stormwind Wastes and creating monsters.

K'Leth knows that this "fool" stumbled upon the Decreation by chance. It is a power that he himself felt trepidation about when exploring it, and everything he has learned about it makes him certain that it cannot be controlled. Kelezar forced his hand. The Decreation is now K'Leth's business.
