Altan's story
Once a warrior of near-legendary prowess among his people, Altan lived a life of adventure and debauchery. Like many other barbarians, he served as a mercenary and fought rival warriors for glory and boast. Even as he grew older, Altan's prideful nature did not weaken. Even though his strength began to wane, he still craved the same fame and exaltation of battle. When he was accused of growing old and weak, he not only gave the culprits a good beating, but promised himself to face the fearsome dragon Hellrazor alone. Without a word, he gathered his army and set off for Beast Mountain. It is unknown what happened in the dragon's lair, as Altan refuses to talk about it. Some say the Arbiter herself intervened and saved him from certain death. Either way, it's clear that Altan didn't prevail, but he didn't perish either. When he emerged, the old barbarian warrior appeared fused with the dragon flame that will burn within him forever. He swore loyalty to the Arbiter and his fight against the growing Shadow and served the warriors she had chosen ever since.
