What I advise you on the champion:

Champion useful only in early and mid game. Support for new players + atb boost. Useful for the arena boost atb + bdc (break atq a1 but only 40%) and spider with a galek supreme.
As soon as you have a referee and/or an invu team, it becomes useless.

Champion useful for merging Lady Mikage

I will use it in: Arena, Clan Boss, Faction Crypt
Use for : Its "Utility" debuffs (Break Def, Atq, precision, etc...), Boost ATB, Support (Heal, Debuff your team, buff)
When to use the champion (Playtime): Early, Mid Game
Champion to ride 6*: If nothing else
Champion you can book: Yes but not a priority
