From the sanctuary at the Sellia Gate, take the path on the right before entering the town. You’ll soon come across a small, isolated building: this is the Gowry's Cabin.
If you're coming from north of Caelid, follow the road southeast along the marshes. You can see the cabin from the road, just before the first ruins of Sellia. Go inside and talk to Gowry to start the quest.

Here are the steps, in order, to complete the quest related to Gowry and to Millicent in Elden Ring.
Step 1: Talk to Gowry the Sage in his cabin
Go into the cabin and start a conversation with Gowry. This NPC, a sage from Sellia, asks you to find his needle. It has fallen into the hands of a boss hiding in the nearby marshes. Accept his request and get ready to face the Commander O'Neil.
Step 2: Kill Commander O’Neil in the Aeonia Swamp
The marsh of’Aeonia, in the heart of Caelid, is a vast area teeming with scarlet decay. The terrain makes the gauge rise very quickly: make sure you're well-protected. There, you'll face the Commander O'Neil, a boss surrounded by soldiers whom he summons during battle. Once this commander is defeated, he gives you the broken pure gold needle. Step 3: Return the needle to Gowry and learn Sellia's secret
