In this guide, we'll show you how to break these orbs to defeat the orb in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to destroy the orbs of the Guardian of the Thought in Hogwarts Legacy?
Destroy the orb while it is charging:
At a certain point in the game, you'll meet Percival Rackham, the leader and one of the guardians of the Hogwarts Legacy. He'll ask you to complete a series of tests, at the end of which you'll learn several essential pieces of information about the past. These tests, given by Percival Rackham, are sometimes rather complicated because of their enigmatic aspect, but above all because of the enemies they conceal.
The first step to successfully completing your quest and destroying the Orb is to bring the Professor Fig to San Bakar Tower, north of Hogsmeade, to defeat the goblins who have settled there and find the secret door on the first floor of the tower you'll be passing through.
To do this :
- Investigate the presence of goblins, and don't hesitate to cast the Petrificus Totalus spell for the first time.
- Eliminate goblins with care, as some change size and attack quickly.
- Then you'll have a series of riddles to solve to reach the final zone, where you'll come face to face with a Pensine Guardian, a formidable enemy in Hogwarts Legacy.
Use ancient magic to break the orbs of the Sentinel of Thought
You will be exposed to series of devastating attacks to begin combat with the guardian pensine orbs. You can initially dodge them and parry their projectiles without too much difficulty, but it can be tricky to break the orbs the Pensine Guardian summons into his hands.
You must succeed in destroying them before they can grow, as their explosion could be disastrous. To avoid this, adopt the best strategies and cast a specific spell while the orbs are growing. The spells required vary according to the color of the orb, and you may even need to assign different spells to your Spell Diamond during combat. To defeat the boss Hogwarts Legacy Pensieve Guardian:
- If the orb is red in color, you need to cast a red spell such as Confringo or Incendio to inflict damage.
- If it is purple in color, Accio or Depulso can be used to destroy it.
- To destroy a yellow orb, you must cast Levioso or Glacius.
If you want to fight the enemy easily, i.e. the boss pensine guardian, prefer red spells (Confringo, Incendio) as well as yellow.
It's essential that you're equipped with a variant of each of these spells and be ready to cast them at any time to make sure that these orbs never explode. So don't hesitate to keep hitting the Pensiene Guardian with everything you've got until it falls.
Also, you should cast ancient magic as often as possible to increase your chances of survival, as the damage inflicted by this form of magic can considerably reduce the health of the Pensine guard. You need to perform magic combos and collect the luminous objects that materialize to refill the ancient magic meter. As for you, you can use Wiggenweld potions to restore your health if necessary. This way, you don't risk much even when you're in danger or receiving attacks from your enemy!

Where does Percival Rackham's quest lead?
As in most video games, each quest leads to the next, and this is the case for Percival Rackham's quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
- After defeating the boss, cross the bridge that appears and enter the room with the Pensine.
- A loot box is located to the right of the bowl. Discover the memories of Percival Rackham on the use of ancient magic to tell the story's entire plot.
- Then return to the mapping room and talk to Professor Rackham, Fig or Charles Rookwood. Although the dialogue involves choices, it doesn't affect anything in the game.
- Percival Rackham's mission ends with a conversation with the guardand then autumn in the world of Hogwarts.
