In a wizarding world like Hogwarts Legacy, it's not unusual to deal with curses, which claim many victims who are treated at St Mungo's Hospital. The game of course allows players to have more details about magical diseases and injuries. Indeed, the magic that articulates the side quest Bad vegetable fate, which consists in bringing back a coat of arms in a family tomb in order to reverse a disease linked to beets.
You will have access to this quest after completing Charles Rookwood's trial, but only if you have already defeated Samantha Dale, a Ravenclaw student who will give the quest, in a Duel Attraction Board game. If so, she will be waiting for you in the Hogwarts Greenhouses to start the quest for you by telling you about her brother. Here's how to complete this Hogwarts Legacy side quest.

Progress of the side quest: Bad plant spell in Hogwarts Legacy
Following the conversation with Samantha, you will be led to go to the tomb of the Dale family, located southeast of Hogwarts, near the small hamlet of Bourg-Garenne, in the same place as the side quests: Missing cabbage and Fight against trolls. Once inside, you'll have to burn the Devil's Net using one of your fire spells, then slide down the large slope in front of you.
At the bottom of the slope, you'll come face to face with the Riverside Troll, who is one of Hogwarts Legacy's infamous enemies. Despite this elevated status, the strategy for defeating him remains the same as for beating any other troll in Hogwarts Legacy. So just dodge his charge and sledgehammer attacks and use Protego and R1/RB to hit him returning his own rocks, ancient magic and other powerful spells can also be used to multiply damage.
Once the Troll is defeated, head to the narrow passage at the back of the chamber and drop Marmaduke's coat of arms there in the sarcophagus. You can grab a few chests hidden behind breakable walls before leaving the tomb, but their contents are random and equipment becomes obsolete very quickly. Then return to Samantha, who will be waiting for you in the greenhouses of Hogwarts to complete the quest and obtain the 180 XP and a totem with which you can decorate your Room of Requirement.
