As a fairly large open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy is packed full of side content and has a wide variety of side quests for players to get all the trophies/achievements in the game.
Among the side quests in Hogwarts Legacy, the one called Birds of a feather flock together consists of rescuing a rare albino Dirico threatened by poachers named Gwyneira. The quest is given by Marianne Moffett, a woman who is found in the small town of Grottaleau, in the southeastern region of the world map.

Unfolding of the side quest: Birds of a feather flock together in Hogwarts Legacy
You will have access to this quest after discovering the book on the library reserve during the third act of the game's main story. However, you will have to wait until you have completed the main quest called "The Elf, the Capture Bag, and the Loom" before you can complete the side quest, as it requires the use of the capture bag.
Where is the capture bag?
To obtain the Capture Bag, talk to Cheek in the On-Demand Room. He'll teach you all he knows, and mainly provide you with your Capture Bag.
Once you've got it, all you have to do is head for the west coastto enter the creature's lair and complete the quest. Let's get down to business!
- Once you've agreed to help Marianne Moffett save Gwyneira during your conversation, the quest marker will redirect you to Dirico's lair.
- You have to go there at night to see Gwyneira appear. passing the time if it is daylight, by opening the map screen and then pressing the right stick.
- Gwyneira should be easy to spot once night falls, as her feathers are bright white. You will also see her identified as Gwyneira the Dirico when you lock onto her, when it's just Dirico to other birds of her kind.
- To catch it, you'll have to lock onto it and use the capture bag as you would with any other beast. However, unlike the beasts you have previously caught with Cheek the house elf, there will be four steps to catching Gwyneira instead of three.
- She'll be running a lot during this time, but if you can keep up with her, you'll be able to put it in the bag quite quickly.
How does the quest end?
Once you've captured Gwyneira, it's time to make a quick trip to the location of the Fireplace Flame in Grottaleau and return the quest to Marianne.
She will ask you to give her the bird because she was the one who had the idea of protecting it from poachers, which will give you three dialogue choices.
From now on, the choice is yours!
- If you hand Gwyneira over to Marianne, you'll be receive 300 gallons
- But if you answer by choosing "It will cost you," you will get 500 galleons.
- As for the third option, allowing you to keep Gwyneira and bring her back to the Hall upon request, she will give you the opportunity to discover Marianne's hidden side and hear her curse you, although this will not bring you any remuneration.
Regardless of your answer choice, you'll earn 180 XP and then the Good-natured Worldly Set, a cosmetic item that is used to customize the appearance of your gear.
