How to unlock the pickaxe?
To unlock the crafting recipe for the deer antler pickaxe, you must first defeat Eikthyr, a giant stag lurking in the Grasslands biome. To cast it, place 2 deer antlers (Deer Trophy) on its altar, then interact with it.
Once defeated, Eikthyr release of the hardwood (Hard Antler), the key ingredient for getting your pickaxe. Be sure to pick it up off the ground. In multiplayer, each player needs their own hardwood, so you may have to restart the battle several times if you're in a group.
Eikthyr also provides a power of boss useful for exploring new world seeds faster.

Once you've gathered the materials, go to the area near your workbench and opens the crafting menu. The recipe for the deer antler pickaxe requires :
- 10 wood (picked up off the ground or while cutting down trees)

What is a deer antler pick used for?
This is the first pick available in this survival game, and it's strong enough to crack the rocks in the first biomes. You can use it to:
- Break the rocks and the game's stones around your base to terraform the terrain.
- Mining the deposits of copper in the Black Forest biome, which are essential for making bronze.
As you progress through the game, you'll be able to earn higher-level picks, which are faster at extracting minerals.
