What is the series *The Rings of Power* about?
The series is set in Middle-earth, several millennia before the events of the Lord of the Rings. This is the era of the Second Age, a fragile period of peace that will come to an end with the gradual resurgence of evil.
The story follows several characters across different continents and kingdoms. Galadriel, performed by Morfydd Clark, tracks down the last remaining servants of Morgoth even though no one believes they'll come back yet. Elrond, played by Robert Aramayo, navigates between elven politics and friendship with the dwarves of the kingdom of Durin.
Among mortals, the forest soldier Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) discovers an underground threat in the Southern Lands. In Númenor, the island-kingdom of men, Elendil must choose a side as tensions rise between humans and elves. And a mysterious stranger who fell from the sky, played by Daniel Weyman, arrives at the Hairy Feet, of which it is a part Nori (Markella Kavenagh).
The season 1 lays the groundwork and reveals the identity of Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) in a striking final twist. The season 2 delves deeper into the forging of rings of power themselves, with Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) at the heart of the story, as well as Poppy (Megan Richards) among the Hairy Feet.
The series was co-created by Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne. It blends stock, adventure and fantastic epic, with settings ranging from forests of Lindon to the misty mountains, passing through the coasts of Númenor.
