Il est bien connu que les Elfes Noirs sont issus des exilés qui ont fui le royaume naissant d’Aravia après une guerre civile sanglante. Ce ne sont pas des intrigues politiques qui ont conduit au conflit, mais plutôt la fascination d’une partie importante de l’aristocratie elfique pour les arts interdits de la magie noire.
Craignant les effets d’une telle puissance maligne, les dirigeants de l’humanité elfique cherchèrent à mettre fin à cette pratique de manière décisive. Bien que déshonorés et vaincus, les Elfes Noirs pratiquent toujours leurs arts loin des flèches étincelantes de leur patrie, jurant de revenir un jour et de réclamer ce qui leur revient de droit.
Mais la royauté des Hauts Elfes avait raison de craindre la magie noire. Sa pratique attire l’attention des sbires de Siroth, ses effets sont souvent anathèmes pour tout ce qui est sacré dans la création de Lumaya. Et elle fait payer un lourd tribut à celui qui la pratique.
Le teint blafard ou d’un bleu effroyable, les yeux d’un orange flamboyant sont des traits typiques des Elfes Noirs, et ils n’ont pas été adoptés naturellement. Pourtant, le pouvoir que confèrent les arts sombres est exceptionnel, et nombreux sont ceux qui cherchent à s’en emparer, quel qu’en soit le prix.
Le Moissonneur, bien que guerrier dans l’âme, a bien appris la manipulation subtile de l’énergie par le sacrifice. Un mot de ses lèvres peut affaiblir ses ennemis, les rendant des proies faciles pour elle et ses alliés, sa faux coupe avec un hurlement à glacer le sang qui semble empêcher toute magie bénigne de se manifester. Le temps lui-même peut changer de cours à son commandement – ou du moins, elle peut en créer l’illusion, confondant ses ennemis et profitant de leur maladresse.
