History of Sabitha de l'Aube
The Cult of K'Leth has been in hiding for over two hundred years, ever since the Sacred Order launched a second assault on the Catacombs of Narbuk during the Age of Treachery. In that time, it has seen victories and suffered setbacks, but its members have always believed that one day they would become powerful enough to overthrow the powers of the world. It's a dream propagated and encouraged by Losan K'Leth, the Cult's leader, and for several decades he has been working and planning to make it a reality.
One method to which K'Leth devotes a great deal of energy is the founding of an order of specialized warriors, made up of highly skilled individuals who are capable of being the symbols of hope his followers would need to withstand the hardships that a revolution would entail.
This project, along with many others, was greatly thwarted by the Siroth Sect. This separatist group, led by Bystophus, turned against K'Leth to worship the Shadow God. Although the Sect was eventually destroyed and its few surviving members captured or scattered, the damage it did to the Cult was far more lasting.
Perdition, the Cult's floating island fortress, has lost contact with dozens of cells and lairs. Hundreds of Revenants Chevaliers and even more cultists have been killed.
This situation called for emergency measures. K'Leth knew he had to re-establish control quickly. To this end, he deployed elements of his elite warrior order much earlier than he had anticipated.
This order is called the Dawn Visitors. Most of its members were orphans, kidnapped or sheltered by the Cult and then raised. They were the neglected, the abused and the bullied; now they have training, discipline and a sense of purpose.
The crimson of their armor reflects the enemy blood that will be spilled, and the blood of loyalists who must be sacrificed if the Cult is to obtain the empire it deserves. The halo and flame motifs around their helmets and the double-headed swords evoke the image of the rising sun and the arrival of dawn. They symbolize a bloody new beginning for the Cult.
Hundreds of Dawn Visitors have been sent to the four corners of Teleria to restore Perdition's radiance, motivate the troops and root out spies, traitors and defeatists. Thousands more are in training. They are master orators and warriors, gaining their skills under the tutelage of Revenant Knights such as Rectress Drath and Giath Écu de vérité.
The latter designed their elaborate spear katas, including the Path of the Fiery Ray, Dazzling Blows and Solar Flare Movements. To fight a Dawn Visitor is to face a warrior and a spear in constant motion, making it almost impossible not only to predict where the next strike or throw will come from, but also to deliver even a perfunctory blow.
Sabitha is not the real name of this Dawn Visitor. It was given to her by the Cult before she could walk. As far as she's concerned, serving K'Leth is all there is and all there ever will be. To be part of the vanguard of her master's great revolution is a matter of solemn pride, and she tolerates no dissent from the Cultists she has been sent to oversee and galvanize.
This dedication has earned Sabitha the unrivalled love of the Cultists she leads. In the underworld of Velyzar, a place of destitution and rampant crime, she is a powerful asset to the Cult. The Faceless who serve her have recruited scores of members based on her prowess: the destruction of murderous gangs and the inclusion of many sick people left for dead in the streets. Diamant Pièce-cuivre, kingpin of Velyzar, may never have heard of Sabitha, but that's about to change.
