History of Alaz Porte-soleil
Alaz Porte-soleil est, indirectement, le héros de la « Grande crise solaire », un mythe-thème présent dans plusieurs cultures d’Humains de Téleria, dont les peuples de Frostheim, de Port Fantôme, des Terres-Mortes et du Désert de Krokhan. Même si les détails varient énormément, deux éléments relient les récits à travers le temps et les cultures : le soleil de Téleria qui était perturbé, et un sauveur apparu suite à la fusion d’un Jotunn et d’un Humain de la culture en question qui raconte l’histoire. Les similarités émergent du secret, mal gardé, de la présence d’Alaz à Téleria.
Dans le récit de Frostheim, les rayons du soleil devinrent pâles et blafards, et le monde dans son ensemble commença à geler. Les habitants des Terres-Mortes disent que le soleil, comme un animal dans un pâturage, s’échappa et devait être retrouvé. La version de Krokhan affirme que le soleil dévala sur Téleria et brûla les terres, créant ainsi le Désert. Dans la légende des Vieux Norr, le soleil, conçu à la fois comme un puissant seigneur de guerre unique et un état-nation belliqueux, décida de lancer un raid pour piller Téleria après des années passées à l’observer avec envie depuis les cieux.
Ces crises solaires constituent la transformation mythologique d’une crise réelle qui pourrait n’être jamais résolue, fusionnée à des récits dont les origines remontent jusqu’aux tréfonds de l’Âge Gris.
