History of Basil

Les hommes-lézards ont tendance à vénérer les grands monstres avec lesquels ils partagent leur sang. Dragons, wyvernes, serpents géants de toutes sortes. Certains d’entre eux cherchent à imiter ces puissantes bêtes. C’est le cas du Basilic, un guerrier fort et ambitieux du peuple lézard.

Ce n’est qu’un sujet de vantardise et de rumeurs, mais on dit qu’il a affronté un véritable basilic pour avoir l’honneur de porter son nom. La bataille a été rude et sanglante. Même lorsque le serpent a rendu son dernier souffle, il a réussi à blesser le fier guerrier, remplissant son sang d’un terrible poison.

Un mortel de moindre importance serait tombé, mais grâce à son courage ou à la bénédiction de Lumaya, l’homme-lézard a survécu à ses graves blessures et à la mort liquide qui coulait dans ses veines. Ce faisant, il s’est attiré les faveurs de quelque chose de bien plus grand que lui – des faveurs qui permettent au Basilic, dont le nom est désormais écrit dans le sang, de se relever et de se battre malgré des blessures qui auraient été mortelles.
