History of Basil

Lizardmen tend to worship the great monsters with whom they share their bloodline. Dragons, wyverns, giant serpents of all kinds. Some of them seek to emulate these powerful beasts. Such is the case with the Basilisk, a strong and ambitious warrior of the lizardfolk.

It's just a matter of bragging rights and rumors, but it's said that he faced a real basilisk to earn the honor of bearing its name. The battle was fierce and bloody. Even as the snake breathed its last breath, it managed to wound the proud warrior, filling his blood with a terrible poison.

A lesser mortal would have fallen, but thanks to his courage or Lumaya's blessing, the lizard-man survived his grave injuries and the liquid death flowing through his veins. In doing so, he earned the favor of something far greater than himself—favor that allows the Basilisk, whose name is now written in blood, to rise and fight despite wounds that would have been fatal.
