History of Haruspex

Much of the ancient lizard-men civilization lies in ruins, divided into primitive tribes that have become beast-like over the centuries. But remnants of their culture still remain in the form of memories and traditions that can survive countless generations.

The Haruspices are an excellent example of this. They are hereditary priests who pass on the knowledge of their ancestors and serve the Great Dragon, the main deity of the lizardmen. More specifically, these priests are trained in divination, reading destiny, and exploiting its threads to obtain the most desirable outcome for their loved ones or allies.

Like all lizardmen, however, they have warrior blood running through their veins. Although they are not as strong as others, they are not opponents to be overlooked. A Haruspex often carries weapons or poisonous concoctions that can be used to weaken an enemy, and knowledge of minor incantations can empower Champions fighting alongside them.
