Story of Suwaï the Elder
Little is known about the spear-wielding warrior who calls herself Suwai Firstborn. She hails from the far reaches of the Dead Lands, where unforgiving desert gives way to the whispering plains of the Savannah and, further north, to resilient forests and treacherous swamps. Although rich in game and even offering stretches of arable land, this region is dangerous to colonize.
Des meutes d’hommes-lézards sauvages parcourent souvent les plaines – et en particulier les terres proches de leurs marais et lacs sacrés – tuant les étrangers à volonté. Suwai parle parfois de son enfance difficile, de la lance qu’elle a utilisée dès qu’elle a été assez forte pour s’entraîner, et des bêtes détestées qui ont coûté la vie à de nombreux membres de sa famille.
Elle parle surtout de vengeance et de dettes payées dans le sang. En effet, Suwai Firstborn est une guerrière vicieuse dont la colère est sombre et facile à soulever. Lorsqu’elle se bat, elle donne tout ce qu’elle a, frappant ses ennemis avec une grâce impitoyable et faisant jaillir des fontaines de sang à chaque coup de lance.
La mort qui l’entoure semble pousser Suwai à accomplir de plus grands exploits martiaux, ses attaques devenant de plus en plus puissantes et précises à mesure que ses ennemis malchanceux tombent au sol. Elle conserve en grande partie ce comportement même lorsqu’elle est au service de l’Arbitre, bien que, grâce à la manipulation astucieuse du héraut de Lumaya, Suwai se concentre désormais sur les questions d’honneur du guerrier plutôt que sur les simples effusions de sang et le besoin aveugle de vengeance.
