A mage of impressive innate skill and power, Yannica may well be the personification of many of the younger races' expectations of her people – both good and bad. She is incredibly intelligent, no doubt, and masters many mysteries. His advice is never given without consideration or understanding of the subject. She is, however, maddeningly arrogant and smug. The condescending smile that so often graces Yannica's noble features has plagued many allies. His real breakthrough was deciphering ancient writings inherited from his tutor and using the knowledge they contained to perfect his own interpretation of the Veil's spell. Its first real application was also a resounding success. While accompanying an older Magister on an expedition to discover artifacts in the crypts far north of the Aravian capital, Yannica and her allies found themselves beleaguered and nearly overwhelmed by the undead. Risking a half-tested spell, she managed to vanish from enemy sight in a spectacular explosion of mist. Even the most stupid ghouls were bewildered by this sight. And before they, or Yannica's group, noticed it, she rushed into a position of observation. From there, she cast a spell that killed many of the undead, while others remained weakened so her allies could finish them off. This is how many scholars and the guards who accompanied them were saved. Although the expedition did not recover anything truly extraordinary that time, Yannica's quick-wittedness and decisive actions allowed her to cement her reputation among her peers.
