Zavia's story
Hate is a powerful thing, perhaps as difficult to overcome as death itself. Yet even there, love finds its way. This is the story of Belanor and Zavia.
A cruel twist of fate pitted them against each other in one of the many conflicts between the High Elves of Aravia and the exiles known as the Dark Elves. Yet despite the bloody fog of war, hatred, and fury, these two souls were united.
As stragglers from a battle between warring elven factions, they were first forced to survive together in a hostile desert infested with orcs. The adversity and dangers they faced allowed them to discover a person behind the mask of an enemy.
The passion that ignited then survived well beyond a temporary alliance of convenience. Ultimately, Belanor and Zavia chose to flee together rather than continue their feud. Considered traitors and deserters by their former allies, they had no choice but to live on the run.
Together, they faced persecution, poverty, and mortal danger. Eventually, they were captured and sentenced to death for their crimes. Yet when the first light of dawn appeared and the jailers arrived to lead the fugitives to the scaffold, they were baffled.
The cell was locked and secure, with no clue as to how the captives had escaped. The only thing they found were two feathers on the stone floor, one black as night, the other white as the light of Lumaya. To this day, no one knows what happened that night, although some, as they often do, attribute the miraculous escape to the Arbiter.
