The Bard's guide and advice on Lost Ark

PRESENTATION :

Welcome to this guide to the Bard, one of the classes in the Mage archetype.
Let's start with the basics: the Bard is a support mage, and you have the ability to use her as a dps, but that's not what we're looking for first and foremost. She'll have a "Last resort" engraving, which will be her support engraving, and you'll have a "Valiant heart" engraving, which will enable you to be a dps, but we'll come back to that a little later.

As the bard is in the mage archetype, she'll have a semi-distance gameplay, but beware of your sturdiness: you'll be able to use ''Heavy armor equipment'' to counteract her lack of sturdiness. To give you a more concrete idea, here's the table:

 

ENGRAVING 1: Last resort

Dernier recours is the engravure that will allow you to have the gameplay support, your gameplay will revolve around the heal that Dernier recours brings, to the last tick of your heal zone you will bring a big heal boost.

  • Level 1: at the end of the Aria healing spell, you generate 8% of your maximum hp.
  • level 2: at the end of the incantation of Aria healing you generate 16% of your maximum hp
  • level 3: at the end of the incantation of Aria healing you generate 24% of your maximum hp

Here's a build and an explanation, but don't forget that the predefined builds can be changed as you wish. Nevertheless, some spells will be more or less mandatory depending on the update or boss you launch, so keep an eye out for new patches so you can modify your spells in real time.

  • spell 1: Sound shock is an orb that you project onto the target, with a group buff to inflict 10% of additional damage for 2 seconds.
  • Spell 2: Wind of music is an aoe that will be sent around you, this spell shields your allies up to 28% of their maximum hp.
  • Spell 3: Sound wave vibration is an aoe orb that adds 15% of attack power for 2 sec, depending on your attack power, and 6% of additional attack power.
  • Spell 4: Sound holic , your only monocible spell on the bard you project a huge beam to be sent in the back
  • Spell 5: Ouverture of storm is an aoe spell that must be sent from the back and has a tripod that greatly increases your resource intake.
  • spell 6: Heavenly performance is a support spell, tripod 2 will increase your attack speed by 8% and tripod 3 will increase your attack power by 15% depending on your attack power and 6% depending on your additional attack power. However, you cannot combine sound wave vibration and heavenly performance, so remember to cast the spells separately.
  • Spell 7: Harp of Rhytm is a harp that you place on the ground. Beware, however, that it is fixed, so remember to place it at the right moment.
  • Spell 8: Indomitable Performance is a support spell , tripod 1 allows you to create invulnerability to interruption and projection. tripod 2 allows you to create a shield equivalent to 18% of your max hp pull for 8 seconds , tripod 3 creates immunity to control.

As you can see, today's bards have an enormous number of support spells. The bard is a highly sought-after class, and even if she isn't indispensable (no class is), her contributions to the group are more than enough to justify her place.

Let's move on to the combat statistic to be prioritized:
You have 2 options!

  • Spec 70% / 30% speed
  • Speed 70% / 30% special

Spec will increase your resource generation, Speed will increase your speed and reduce the recharge time of your spells.

 

 

Once accumulated, your utility will enable you to heal or boost the damage of your allies. However, it is generally estimated that for heal you will use a single string or three strings for the damage boost.

 

ENGRAVING 2: Valiant heart

Coeur vaillant is the bard's least-used engraving, but it's worthwhile spending your bard on dps if you want to make solo or very high-level content. Don't forget, however, that you'll be more appreciated in groups with the last-resort engraving.

You have to take into account that to activate brave heart you will have to use Serenade de valor, which initially brings you 15% of damage and during 8/12/16sec 5%/10%/15% of damage (depending on the number of ropes you going to use )

  • Level 1: in addition to valor serenade, you increase your critical chance by 10% and 10% of damage
  • Level 2: in addition to serenade of valor, you increase your critical chance by 10% and 15% of damage
  • level 3: in addition to the serenade of valor, you increase your critical chance by 10% and 20% of damage

from a stats point of view, it all looks strong but the bard's problem is that with only one monocible spell and the rest in aoe that must be put on the ground, it's very difficult to perform against a real dps (but not impossible).

  • Spell 6: Ouverture of storm is an aoe spell that must be sent from the back and has a tripod that greatly increases your resource intake.
  • Spell 7: Heavenly performance is a support spell, tripod 2 will increase attack speed by 8% and on tripod 3 15% of attack power depending on your attack power and 6% of additional attack power.
  • Spell 8: Prelude to death: you place a mark on enemies, and if they die, you create an explosion within a 3-meter radius.

As you can see, the dps bard has a problem... The monocible can still be played, however, with perseverance and, above all, with sufficient optimization.

The cc will allow you to do more damage, the rapidity will increase your speed and reduce the recharge time of your spells.
