Lyrics to “About”:
[Verse 1]
She lied to me to protect me
I'm a glutton—I ate everything
Oh, that's it—it's been two months. I'm just half a person now; I'm not myself anymore.
And here I am, talking to a photo of us on the platform
She looks so cheerful
How could I guess what was driving him?
What made him leave the party
[Refrain]
It's just a little cut—of course I'm not going to die.
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty much a reliable person
small notch
If God wants I will not die
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty much a solid, solid person
Heyyy
[Verse 2]
What are you thinking about? What are you working on?
Hmm, tennis? I bet you're really good at it.
That your job is driving you crazy
Tonight I'll watch your game again with a little alcohol
By the way, I plan on staying on my side of the bed—just in case you want to come back tonight
I wouldn't even ask you why
I just want us to act like you didn't leave home two seasons ago, but it's no big deal…
Just a small cut
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty much a solid, solid person
[Refrain]
Just a small cut
Of course I'm not going to die
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty much a solid person—just a little scratch
If God wants I will not die
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty much a solid, solid person
Heyyyy
💡 The lyrics to “À peu près” by Lomepal revolve around a breakup that we downplay. This “little crack” that we pretend is nothing actually says much more than words can express—caught between the desire for the other person to come back and the pride in appearing strong.
