How can I watch Canal Plus for free?

There are two real legal ways to watch Canal+ live for free over the Internet: the’free 1-month trial on Canal Plus and certain mobile and internet box packages which includes Canal+ for several months.

Everything else (subscription sharing, seasonal offers, promo codes) makes you pay less, but not zero. And yes, there are IPTV-style pirate streaming solutions too: we explain why we don't recommend them for your viewing, and what you can do instead to enjoy without spending too much money.

👇 We start with the simplest method.

1. Canal Plus free trial : 1 month free

The cleanest and 100 % legal 1-month free trial of the Canal offer.

You can access all Canal+ channels and content (films, series, sport, Apple TV+ included depending on the offer) for 30 days, with no commitment. Just remember to cancel before the end of the month if you don't want to be automatically debited.

How can I get free Canal Plus?

• ✅ Visit canalplus.com or download the myCANAL application.
• ✅ Select the offer that interests you (Canal+, Canal+ Ciné Séries, Canal+ Sport, etc.).
• ✅ Create your account and enter your bank details (yes, it's mandatory: it's what allows automatic renewal).
• ✅ Enjoy your free month and start viewing your programs on smartphone, tablet or computer.

⚠ Put a reminder in your phone at D+25 to deactivate renewal on time.

💡 Here's a tip: some users try again with a new e-mail address + a different payment method. Be aware that the platform can detect multi-accounts (same name, same address, same IP) and block re-registration. This is not a guaranteed long-term method.

2. Mobile and box packages that include Canal Plus free of charge

This is probably the best method if you were looking to change your Internet package or box anyway: several operators include Canal+ or Canal+ Séries free for several months in their offers.

⚠ Conditions change every 2-3 months. Have the reflex to go to the operator's website and look for “Canal+” in the options. If it's included, it'll be marked as such.

📦 On the Internet box side, you can have :

• Freebox Pop → Canal+ Séries included for 12 months.
• Freebox Ultra → Canal+ Séries included depending on current promotions.
• SFR Power / RED Box → Canal+ option offered for a few months depending on the period.

📱 On the mobile package side, we have :

• Free 5G → recurring “Canal+ included” deals for Freebox subscribers.
• B&You / Bouygues → Canal+ or OCS sometimes included in family offers.
• RED by SFR → Canal+ Séries offered occasionally with large packages.

Bonus: free-to-air Canal+ beaches

Canal+ regularly broadcasts free-to-air programs on DTT (channel 4) Newspapers, selected matches, La Matinale and special events.

✅ Not enough to replace a subscription, but it is free, legal and accessible without registration.

And what about free Canal Plus streaming (IPTV, Wuffy, etc.)?

Let's be honest: yes, there are IPTV applications that claim to broadcast Canal+ for free. We do not recommend them and we'll tell you why:

• ❌ This is illegal in France. Watching Canal+ via a pirate source exposes you to a fine of up to €3,750, and Arcom (ex-Hadopi) is increasingly targeting these streams.
• ❌ It's unstable. Apps disappear overnight (Wuffy Player has disappeared from the Play Store, and most M3U links eventually fall).
• ❌ It's risky for your device. Many “free” apps include tracking, aggressive advertising and even malware.
• ❌ Quality is random. Cuts during matches, blurred images, out-of-sync sound... this is not the Canal+ experience.

👌 Our recommendation: if you're on a really tight budget, the Canal Plus trial + mobile package combo with Canal+ included easily gives you 2-3 months free per year in all legality.

Want to stay legal but on a tight budget? Here's how to cut the bill.

How to cut prices without getting Canal Plus free?

Can't find a free 100 % option to suit your needs? Plan B is to pay less for Canal+ without getting it for free. There are several ways to do this:

• 🤝 Legal subscription sharing via platforms such as Sharesub or Spliiit (you split the subscription between several people).
• 🎁 Canal+ seasonal offers (Flash Sales, Black Friday, back-to-school sales) which bring the price down to ~€20/month over 24 months.
• 🎟 Promo codes and offers for under-26s (RAT+).

Watch Canal+ from abroad: using a VPN

Important note: a VPN doesn't make Canal+ free. If you've been sold this somewhere, it's not true.

On the other hand, VPN solves a very specific problem: you're abroad (vacation, expatriation, business trip) and already have an active Canal+ subscription, but myCANAL refuses to start playback because your IP is no longer French. Yes, a VPN like NordVPN unblocks the situation in 30 seconds.

✅ You launch NordVPN, choose a server in France and open myCANAL → everything works just like at home.
