How to do research?
First of all you will have to build a Workshop in the Production part. You will have to put citizen dice with a book (3) in the workshop to gain knowledge to make technologies.

Resource Tree:
In the resource tree you will find everything you need to increase your resource production in the game:
My advice :
Do it fast enough because you will be the same in the resources of the map.
For wood:
- lumberjack ax –> Frame saw –> Forestry = increase wood harvested by 1 in woods
For the food :
- Empennage -> Grande Battue -> Archery training = Increases food in the hunting ground
For stone and iron:
- Geology –> wagonet = +1 stone and +1 iron in the mines
For the grass:
- Herb Dryer and Herbalists = 1 Herb in the Grasslands
Production Tree:
The production tree allows you to increase your production of resources from your buildings:
My advice :
Do the research to find out it quickly becomes profitable and according to your needs the research you want.
With wheat:
Harrow –> Crop rotation –> Moldboard plow: increases wheat production by 1
Advanced Sails -> Copper Gears: Increases food in the mill by 1
Barrel Aging -> Filtration: Increases beer in the brewery
With grass:
Expeditions –> Scouts –> Herbalism: + chance of herbs in the herbalist's hut
Insulated storage -> Salting: +1 food in the breeding farm
For the knowledge :
Block printing and scholars: +1 knowledge in the workshop
Civil life tree:
Allows you to make your survival easier in the face of hazards (fire, winter) or improve your district management to see further.
My advice :
Take the inn upgrades. And those of the district, for the rest it depends on your style of play.
For the hostel:
Rations -> bakery: restores 4 more durability on your dice
For the fire:
limitation of wood –> Tiled roofs –> Brick walls –> Security protocols: Increases the time of the fire by 15%
Fire fighters -> Tocsins: -30 chance that fire will spread to surrounding buildings
For winters:
Bellows –> Charcoal –> Steam Pipes: increases generator duration by 20%
Overspeed: Increases generator range by 1
District :
Scouts -> border patrols: Increases the range of districts by 1 (allows you to put a district in the middle and see up to the side)
Transporter and stone road: Increases district efficiency (for surrounding buildings)
Emissary: increases the range of the outpost by 1
Manipulation tree:
Tree on all that is going to be dice improvement, the most important tree I think!

Upgrade Chamber:
Allows you to unlock the room
Oxygenation -> Healing Vat: The chamber increases durability by 3
Channeling and dual voltage: gives extra power on one side (and the other side random)

My advice :
Whether you want to auto kill troops or help kill them with towers. And later for the big difficulties
Unlock the Tower:
Allows you to build a tower that will do 1 damage. (Info on the tower it does damage to buildings too)
Ramparts -> Mires: increases the range of the tower by 1
Unlock Military School:
Any dice can become a soldier
Military doctrine -> elite soldiers: Gives +1 damage to your soldiers in the military school
Plunder tactic: Gives +1 loot to your soldiers in the military school
Unlock the catapult:
Allows you to build catapults which, against 2 looting and 2 iron, will destroy buildings.
Siege Engineer -> Ballistics: Increases range by 1 cell.
Economy Tree:
Allows you to make exchanges, and to recruit mercenaries
My advice :
Do it to earn more gold and recruit mercenaries if needed
Unlock Market:
Allows you to build the market to make gold in exchange for random resources other than gold.
Customs duty –> Guilds –> Account management: 10% more chances to produce 1 more gold.
Unlock Mercenary Guild:
Allows you to recruit mercenaries in the mercenary guild
Free companies and elite mercenaries: mercenary dice have 2 more durability
Soldier of fortune: +1 loot for mercenaries
Unlock Theater:
Allows you to have +1 farm power (axe and hammer together) and +1 nuts power
Daily performances -> theater groups: Increases the range of the theater by 1
Religion Tree:
Helps reduce the risk of injury, freezing and improves religion class
My advice :
Take for wounds and freeze
Unlock the shrine:
Allows the monk to bless dice
Band-aid and divine protection: reduces the chances of being injured in combat by 15%
Freeze Protection –> Chants of Winter reduces the chance of being frozen in winter by 15%
Plant extract -> herbal medicine: reduces the degradation of a sick die by 15%
Memory of Light: Spreading Corruption requires 5 faces
Unlock the temple:
Monks can heal all negative effects of a die
Clergy: no more grass needed in the temple
Unlock the monument:
Allows monks to increase the duration of dice durability in the pool
Hymns: the monument requires -1 prayers to function
