Hogwarts Legacy: Main quests, witness your first day at Hogwarts step by step

Now that the chaos and excitement of the trip to Hogwarts has died down, Hogwarts Legacy lets players enjoy their first day before danger calls you again. After the danger and excitement of the trip to Hogwarts and the unexpected detour, you have the opportunity to make yourself at home and attend a few classes. You will of course on this first day explore the huge castle of Hogwarts.

The first day in the game lets players explore the common room of their house and chat with the students, in order to learn a bit more about the school and their classmates, before heading out to find Professor Weasley. She is waiting for you to give you one of the most useful tools of their journey: The Sorcerer's Guide. We are going to see these passages from the first day at Hogwarts in detail.

The Wizard's Guide

This enchanted book functions like the in-game menu, allowing players to manage their inventory, view their tasks and quests, and access their maps. Initially, you only have access to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade maps, but a map of the greater area surrounding Hogwarts and Hogsmeade will be available later.

Follow Professor Weasley's instructions to learn more about the Floating Flames and Guide Pages, and you'll soon reach the Great Hall. After a conversation with Professor Weasley and another with Professor Fig, you are free to explore the castle.

Spells Course (Accio)

Thanks to the Guide and its guiding abilities, you will easily find the way to the class of the Spells course. This is where you will meet several new characters and learn a very useful and versatile new spell. After meeting Natsai Onai, Gryffindor student, and Ronen, Professor of Spells, you discover the summoning spell: Accio. After successfully completing the mini-game to learn the spell, Professor Ronen takes the class outside to get some fresh air and practice using Accio in more complex ways.

You will participate in the Summoner's Court challenge which is quite simple, although it does require players to have good timing. The object is to summon a ball at the other end of the field and cast the spell so that it lands in one of the scoring areas. The closer an area is to the player, the higher the score, but if the ball goes off the edge, you won't get any points. After a practice round, the teacher pairs you with Natty for a real match.

There's no need to win here, and Natty is very good at it, but it's still worth a try. Releasing the spell when the ball is in the yellow zone should give it enough momentum to stop in the final zone and get maximum points, but if a ball goes out of bounds, those points are deducted. You can try pushing Natty's balls out of the field with your own, using them as a brake in the process, though this requires more careful positioning.

After completing the first round of Summoner's Court, the Professor will spawn moving blocks that will serve as additional obstacles and invite you and Natty to play again. Players should be able to avoid blocks by casting their Accio spell while both blocks are either in the middle (if trying to move the ball in the middle) or on one of the edges (if moving the ball sideways ground). Note that knocked-out balls won't count towards the final score, and while winning doesn't do anything more than change some dialogue, it's still worth a try.

Defense Against the Dark Arts Course (Levioso)

On your way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, you witness a fierce duel between two students. An explosive charm is deflected towards the skeleton above, but is caught and reattached by Professor Hecat, who interrupts the duel and takes the opportunity to retake the bases.

After giving the class a quick overview of Levioso, the Levitation Spell, the professor offers a tutorial on one of its uses, which helps prevent enemies from reflecting their basic throws with yellow shields by throwing them in the air and unbalancing them. You are then associated with Sebastian Sallow for a duel.

This fight tests you on most of their combat skills so far, using basic throwing, blocking with Protego, and using Levioso to get through yellow shields. Empty Sebastian's health bar or knock him off the end of the platform to win. Victory is optional, but it changes some dialogue and isn't too complicated.

A full Basic Spell chain after the Levioso will knock Sebastian back further, which is a useful trick to remember when fighting against other enemies. After the duel and a quick chat with Professor Hecat, you need to talk to Sebastian to hear about an unsanctioned dueling club that might be of interest.

First mission (Reparo)

After attending both classes, you can talk to Professor Weasley to find out what additional assignments the professors are preparing for you. She also wants you to go to Hogsmeade and collect new supplies to replace what was lost during the Dragon's attack, suggesting that you go with a classmate.

You have the choice between Natty or Sebastian to accompany you and go in search of Professor Ronen for this first mission. Professor Ronen wants to teach you the Reparo spell, but he has a few tasks to complete first. He would like you to collect two loose pages from the Sorcerer's Guide, one near a broken statue opposite where he stands in the Transfiguration courtyard and the other on the first floor of the Tower of Defense against the forces of evil.

Both can be summoned to you with Accio, and they can be seen in the images above and below.
Return to Professor Ronen to learn Accio, try it on the broken statue, then it's time to head to Hogsmeade.

Hogsmeade trip

After meeting Natty or Sebastian near the front door, you can follow one of them to Hogsmeade and enjoy the scenery along the way. They will point out certain points of interest during the journey, such as where to find potion ingredients and the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. After reaching Hogsmeade, they suggest you explore a bit on your own, so it's time to go run some errands.

You will then be taken to the Olivanders to get a wand, to J. Pippin Potions to get recipes, to The Magic Neep to get seeds, and to Tomes and Scrolls to get magic items. It doesn't matter what order you do these groceries in, but they're meant to help you spot several of Hogsmeade's most useful shops.

At the Olivanders, you'll finally be able to get their own wand, and if you've linked their Wizarding World account, you'll notice that the wand defaults to the one assigned to you there, but it's still possible to change it and add it. modify according to your preferences.

You will then go find Natty or Sebastian, before being interrupted by the attack of a troll. This troll has a lot of health and can deal a lot of damage, but is also slow and quite easy to dodge thanks to the new dodge feature. Watch his movements, dodge his attacks and bombard him with magic to reduce his health.

After a while, you'll be prompted to 'Throw Ancient Magic', allowing you to grab and throw nearby items with Spontaneous Magic, which does excellent damage and can easily be mixed into combos. 'offensive. Once his health is almost entirely depleted, you'll be asked to give him the finishing blow, spraying him with ancient magic.

Once the troll is defeated, you will meet Officer Ruth Singer, who congratulates you and asks for your help in repairing the damage caused by the troll. Repair the seven broken objects and buildings nearby, then go to Gladrags, where the owner wants to give you a reward.

After that, a quick trip to the Three Broomsticks is momentarily interrupted by the discovery that Rookwood is working with Ranrok and trying to reach you in the Three Broomsticks. Fortunately, Sirona Ryan and her clients intervene and force him to leave. After a quick chat with either Natty or Sebastian, all you have to do is take a quick trip back to your dorm to end the day.
