Based on a series of Japanese video games of the same name, Inazuma Eleven is both an anime and a manga centered on soccer. These video games were developed by Level-5 and were a huge success in Japan before taking Europe by storm.

Synopsis

Mark Evans is a second-year middle school student Raimon, in Japan. As captain of the soccer team, he plays goalkeeper and is committed above all to team spirit. His biggest dream is to compete in the national tournament.

Everything changes when Nelly Raimon, the daughter of the board chairman, threatens to dissolve the club. To stop her, the team must win a game against the Royal Academy, Japan's best soccer team. The problem: the middle school has only seven players, which isn't enough to field a team for this game.

Mark then set out to accomplish two tasks. First, to recruit four more players. Second, to convince Alex Blaze, a legendary goal-scorer known for his iconic “Fire Storm” shot, to join the team. This devastating shot makes him a formidable player against any opponent. As the series progresses, other characters take on greater prominence, such as Nathan Swift, Kevin Dragonfly, and Jude Sharp.

Inazuma Eleven Saga

The first saga spans three seasons for a total of 127 episodes, to be watched back-to-back.

Season 1: 26 episodes

This is where it all begins. Mark Evans and his middle school teammates Raimon want to compete in the national tournament. To do so, they must win every game against the best opposing teams, including the formidable Royal Academy, during the inter-middle school tournament called Football Frontier. As the game progresses, players develop spectacular special moves—such as fire shots or thunder strikes—to turn the tide against their opponents.

Season 2: 41 episodes

After their victory at the Football Frontier, Mark and his teammates face a new threat: the’Alius Academy, an organization that destroyed their middle school. Becoming the best soccer team in the world becomes their new challenge. They set off aboard the Inazuma Caravan with their new coach, Aquilina Schiller, and notably cross paths with Genesis and the Black Emperors. Every game against these elite teams pushes the players of Raimon to push their limits using ever-more-powerful lighting and fire techniques.

Season 3: 60 episodes

This time, Mark and his teammates join the Inazuma Japan team to represent their country in the Football Frontier International tournament. This competition brings together the world’s best players, including teams from the heavens and the underworld. The matches feature a blend of ice, fire, and thunder techniques in spectacular games against opponents from all corners of the world.

Inazuma Eleven GO Series

This second saga takes place 10 years after the end of *Football Frontier International*. It consists of three series, for a total of 141 episodes.

Inazuma Eleven GO: 47 episodes

Middle School Raimon has been revamped, and the characters from the original series are returning, ten years older. At the same time, new players are appearing and taking part in the Route du Sacre tournament, a revamped version of the Football Frontier. Every match against opposing teams reveals new legendary techniques, including never-before-seen fire and light attacks.

Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone: 51 episodes

After the Route du Sacre tournament, Arion Sherwind go back to Raimon and realizes that everything has changed: the members of his team are no longer there. He then discovers that a global organization called El Dorado has decided to eradicate soccer. She tells Alpha and tasked his team, the Omega Protocol, with banishing soccer from the world. The series then focuses heavily on time travel thanks to the Chrono Stones. Players face off against legendary opponents from different eras in decisive battles where fire, ice, and light techniques are used in rapid succession.

Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy: 43 episodes

Players are selected to form the Inazuma National team and compete in the Football Frontier International Vision 2. On the surface, this competition is supposed to determine the best team in the world. In reality, it’s a setup to choose the team that will represent Earth in the Grand Celestial Galaxy. The matches against the alien teams push the players to develop skills on an entirely new level.
