What's on the map:
Empty bottles with a question mark:
These silhouettes reflect the contours of the bottle as it crosses the map during the brewing processand each initially contains a question mark. An effect can be impregnated into a potion using the bellows when the potion marker touches the effect marker. After the first time an effect is impregnated, its marker will instead display a symbol corresponding to the effect. The effect is imbued with a level - I, II or III - occupying an equal number of the 5 spaces on a potion with the effect symbol, depending on how close the potion marker is to the effect marker when the bellows is used.
Swirls:
These spiral marks respond to the bellows, rotating in the direction of their lines according to the current heat of the cauldron. If the potion marker touches the whirlpool (indicated by a darkening of its lines), the potion will be pulled in the direction of movement, gradually moving towards its center.
Bone :
If you move on contact with bones, the liquid in the potion marker slowly empties: when the potion is empty, it fails, causing all progress (including invested ingredients) to be lost and the potion to reset. its virgin state. The liquid in the potion marker will refill as soon as the marker no longer touches any bones. A bone grows bolder and twitches when in contact with the potion marker.
Experience books:
Scattered across the map brown circles contain one, two or three pounds, called minor, medium and major experience respectively. Touching one of these with the potion marker will make it disappear, while granting a quantity of experience based on the number of pounds. Once an experience marker is consumed, it does not reappear. However, the skill of alchemical practice means that consumed experience tokens are sometimes replaced by green markers which function in an equivalent way.
