Here are the steps to reach the tomb and explore it from end to end. This guide covers access, carts, collectibles, and the boss.

How to Get to the Entrance of the Tomb

To find the Tomb of the Heroes of Gelmir, there are two possible paths on the Mount Gelmir.

First path: from the site of grace at the Bridge of Iniquity, head west. Climb the rope ladder to reach the Grace Site at Mount Gelmir's First Camp. Then go around to the west and then the southwest to reach the entrance.

Second path: Walk along the large jagged rock that stretches from the north of the Hermit's Village to the chasm. The Primitive Sorcerer's "Grace of Azur" site allows you to reach this area more quickly from the south.

Once there, a scale and a small bridge leads you to the dungeon's door, which is at the end of a dead-end. This is the entrance to the heroes' tomb.

Navigating Through the Carts and the Lava

The main challenge of this dungeon lies in its flaming carts. These carts race down a long ramp lined with washer. Just one touch will kill you instantly. Here are three ways to avoid them.

Stay close to the left or right edge of the aisle. Move forward between two shopping carts. This is the basic method, which anyone can use.
Equip your weapon with the Ash of War Pas du limier. This weapon skill allows you to move quickly along ramps and dodge through lava without taking full damage. The claws of knight-hound have the same weapon style.
With good timing, the ashes of war Raptor des brumes lets you jump over the carts. It's the most effective method if you master it.

To move more quickly between two passes of the cart, stay in the alcoves carved into the left and right sides of the corridor. These alcoves protect you from the lava and the flaming wheels.

Unlike the other heroes' tombs, this dungeon does not contain no lever : The doors leading to the boss room can be opened simply by hand.

To reach the boss, go down the ramp all the way to the end, then follow the lava flow to the bottom. A ladder on the side lets you climb back up to the doors of the boss room. Tip: The second cart in the dungeon has a flat back; you can jump onto it from the beams above and let it carry you all the way down without touching the lava.

The Secret Passage and the Ring Finger

The real significance of this tomb lies all the way down from the lava flow. At the end of the cart ramp, instead of turning toward the safe zone, keep going straight through the lava while rolling to minimize damage (heal yourself with your potion along the way—the lava isn't fatal right away).

At the very bottom, turn at left : A small room houses a chest containing the Ring Finger. A fire-resistant item or the Flame Drake Talisman makes the journey much more comfortable

You can also collect some funeral foxgloves in the alcoves on your left as you go down. These flowers are used to improve your Spirit Ashes with Roderika. Keep an eye out for each ledge: there are several items placed there, off the main corridor.

The area around the trunk also features several isolated digital channels on the side ledges. Hide in the nooks between each pass of the cart to pick them up without dying. These are inconspicuous but valuable items if you use spirit summons.

Enemies in the tomb

The enemies in the tomb are mainly skeletons and shadow warriors. Skeletons will get back up if you don't finish them off with a quick blow after they fall. Lure them away from the carts and the lava before taking them out.

You'll also find a knight-hound in a lower room and a cemetery shadow lurking in a dark alcove. The Hound Knight is much tougher than the skeletons: stay on the move to avoid his chain attacks and strike after his combos end.

Watch out for the shaded areas at the base of the ramps. Additional enemies are stationed there and may ambush you while you're handling the carts. Proceed cautiously into each alcove before using them as cover.

Boss of the Tomb of the Heroes of Gelmir: The Champion's Red Wolf

The boss at the back of the dungeon is the Champion's Red Wolf. It's a fast and aggressive creature that you might come across on the map of’Elden Ring.

He is vulnerable to bladed weapons and physical damage (especially to the head), and jumping and heavy attacks break his stance. However, he is immune to elemental damage: he is resistant to fire, lightning, magic, and holy damage. If you’re playing a magic-based class, prioritize melee spells that deal physical damage.

This monstrous boss constantly uses leaps and charges over long distances. Distance won't protect you. Stay right on its heels throughout the fight to limit its mobility.

Strategy for Defeating the Champion's Red Wolf

Here are the essential tips for defeating this boss in the Tomb of the Heroes of Gelmir.

Dodge inward, under his body, when he charges or lunges. Moving to the right or left leaves you exposed to his follow-up attack.
Wait until he finishes his combo before landing two or three hits. He often strings together three or four attacks in a row before taking a break.
Bladed weapons work best. Swords with a long reach allow you to strike from the side without exposing yourself, and jumping or charging attacks quickly break his guard, setting you up for a critical hit.
Step back as soon as it growls and lowers its head. This is a sign of a ground attack, which is hard to dodge if you're too close on the right or left.
Wait until he gets back up after a charge to land two quick hits. That's the safest window in the fight.
Once you defeat him, you’ll receive 21,000 runes as well as the ashes of Floh, the hound knight—an aggressive spirit summon.

This boss is identical to the version of the boss encountered at the Raya Lucaria Academy.

If you've already fought him somewhere else, the battle pattern is the same. On PS5, Xbox Series Where PC, the boss behaves the same regardless of the version.

For players on the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, this kind of brutal combat is good training before facing the bosss of the DLC.

Rewards Found in the Tomb

The Tomb of the Heroes of Gelmir offers great rewards for exploration. Here are the main items to collect.

The Ring Finger : Found in a chest at the bottom of the lava flow, at the foot of the cart ramp. It is the most valuable item in the tomb.
Grave Digitalis : scattered throughout the alcoves to the left and right of the main corridor. Useful for upgrading your spirit ashes.
Champion's Red Wolf Runes : Obtained after defeating the boss. A good haul of runes to help you progress through the game.
