In practice, each application manages its own Recycle Bin. This is the case for Google Photos, of Files by Google or from the gallery at Samsung.
This system is very helpful when you accidentally delete data: your photos and files go into a temporary trash bin, and you can restore before they are permanently deleted. The retention period varies depending on the app and the manufacturer:
- On Google Photos with backup enabled: 60 days
- On Google Photos without a backup: 30 days
- On Samsung (My Files): 30 days
After these time limits have passed, the deletion takes place automatically and irreversibly.
How do I recover items from the Recycle Bin on a Samsung device?
On a Samsung smartphone, the trash can is located in the app Mes fichiers. This is where your phone stores deleted files before permanently erasing them. Here's how to access your deleted items and restore them:
