History of Cerbère Sépulcral

Countless cursed crypts and mausoleums lie hidden within the desolate lands of Stormwind. They lure foolish mortals with promises of power, wealth, or even eternal life, and those who fall into this trap often end up paying with their lives or, willingly or unwillingly, unleashing the evil that lurks within upon the world.

But while wizards or occasional renegades pose only a marginal threat, the formidable Revenant Knights have abundant manpower and esoteric knowledge at their disposal—the losses incurred while exploring ancient tombs are negligible in their eyes. Many terrible secrets have fallen into the hands of the Queen's Knights over the centuries, but few have matched the Tomb of Gorak-Kha the Serpent, a Demon Lord who led the very first invasion of Teleria.

Although the Arbiter, at the height of his power in those ancient times, slew Gorak-Kha in single combat and destroyed his unholy spirit, the mortal cultists who would lay the foundations for today's Revenant Knights managed to recover what remained of the great demon's body. Having sworn to keep it secret, they buried it in an enchanted obsidian sarcophagus deep within the earth.

And although millennia have passed since that fateful battle, the power of Gorak-Kha still resides in the mortal world. The Knights of the Revenant jealously guard the crypt, and the elite Sentinels of the Sepulchre are charged with its defense. These black-hearted warriors have repelled countless assaults by rival cults, undead lords, mercenaries, and even bands of Lumayan champions.

The power of Gorak-Kha grants them unholy gifts, some hardening the Sentinels“ armor so that it can repel even the most vicious blows or spells, others allowing them to weaken the enemy with a single touch. In addition, the Sentinels of the Sepulcher often carry small tokens from offerings left on their overlord's tomb, which extend Gorak-Kha's ”blessings" to those who fight alongside his chosen ones.
