Story of Krisk l'eternel
Long ago, the lizardmen ruled over most of the eastern continent of Teleria. An ancient and proud race, they called themselves Dragonkin in honor of the Great Dragon, whom they worshipped as their chief deity.
Dazzling temples of bronze and limestone pierced the sky, and wise priests directed their families to advance the empire's greatness from these sumptuous palaces. It was the duty of the most powerful dragon warriors to defend the priests and temples of their god.
It was also Krisk's duty. As guardian of the Great Dragon's sanctuary, he oversaw the rituals and divinations that took place there, carried out the priests' wishes, and helped them maintain the arcane vortex that hung at the very heart of the temple. When wars raged and nomads invaded, Krisk fought with all the skill and power he possessed.
But even that was not enough when all else was lost and the greatness of his people crumbled to dust. Seriously wounded, Krisk was thrown to the ground and could only watch as the Sanctuary shattered under the shockwave of a great explosion when the foolish humans untangled the Vortex. There were many deaths on both sides, and countless magical storms raged across the land.
But Krisk survived this ordeal. Although his temple had disappeared and his people had sunk into primitive savagery over generations, he had sworn to defend what remained of the sanctuary. And so Krisk the Ageless decided to remain vigilant until the end of time, for the magical storm he had weathered had filled him with power and vitality, increasing his natural longevity beyond what many thought possible.
It was only with the arrival of the Shadow that Krisk's oath was broken. Although many members of his family hailed the dragon freed by Mortu-Macaab as their god, Krisk knew that these were nothing but lies and falsehoods. He fought the servants of Siroth who had come to claim the Sanctuary, putting all his experience and supernatural power to good use, shattering dozens of chitin shields and horned skulls.
When the Arbitrator's chosen ones arrived, he understood that providence had guided them there, and so he extended his protection to the brave warriors serving Lumaya. They fought side by side, Krisk the Unshakable marching ahead of his allies, deflecting spells and weapons with his enchanted armor.
At the end of the battle, he swore allegiance to the Arbiter, entrusting him with his soul and his mace. For he knew that the desecration of the Sanctuary was only the beginning. If his people were not saved from the lies of the false dragon god, they would sink into darkness and slavery, a fate far worse than their current semi-savage existence.
