History of Mistress of Hymns

The march of a Holy Order Commandery into war is always a grand affair. Often a liturgy is held to praise the goddess of light and ask for her protection. These ceremonies require a choir, as it is well known that harmony in music pleases Lumaya. The lead singer must always be a woman – in honor of the goddess – and her duties do not end with the mere conduct of peaceful prayer. Even the clamor of battle is not enough to silence Lumaya's word, and it is the mistress of hymns who sustains the faithful by example and song. The power of her voice and the purity of her faith are such that champions see their resolve strengthened and their wounds fade under Lumaya's gaze. Even death is not enough to extinguish the flames of hope. When all seems lost and the need is greatest, the Hymn of Rebirth resounds on the battlefield, bringing to life those who have fallen in battle. Shielded from enemy eyes by blinding light, they can recover and join the fray once more.
