History of Noble Legionnaire
It is said that the lords of the banner of the kingdom of Kaerok are very fond of creating societies and fraternities among their members. This allows nobles to distinguish themselves in the eyes of their peers, improve their social status—if the "secret" society gains enough influence and prestige—and entertain bored knights.
However, some of these groups come together for genuine and honorable reasons, such as protecting the vast lands of Kaerok from the various enemies that threaten the king's realm. Like the Sacred Order, which in the past was formed from Kaerokian knights, the Legion is an order of warriors dedicated to serving Lumaya.
Unlike the Templars and other servants of the Sacred Order, the Legionnaires do not renounce their vows of feudal loyalty and continue to serve the King of Kaerok. Nevertheless, legionnaires draw inspiration from ancient traditions and strive to lead lives of humble piety. Even the humblest commoners are accepted into their ranks—a scandalous decision that has greatly damaged the Legion's popularity and reputation among the Lords of the Banner themselves.
Members of the nobility who join the Legion are often young knights who have nothing to their name, or those whose family fortunes were lost long ago. However, some willingly abandon their large estates and untold riches in the name of Lumaya. These individuals are among the most determined and righteous warriors in the Legion, and their military expertise will benefit any summoner who manages to recruit one of them.
