Millennia ago, the vast dragon empire, weakened by a series of costly and disastrous wars, finally crumbled under the onslaught of nomadic human warriors. Sick and frail, he was not made to be a warrior, and certainly not a worthy heir to his father's glory. But Katonn was smart, and the time he didn't spend spear training or horseback riding he spent learning all he could from the clan's shamans. And it wasn't long before the boy's efforts were rewarded with a great understanding of magic, which only increased his natural talent. Even though his father willingly used Katonn's magic, he still despised his son, and the seeds of hatred that had been planted so long ago eventually bore fruit. When the Lizardmen temples fell and the resulting magical cataclysm fueled the wizards and witches of Teleria, Katton was quick to gain the upper hand. He killed his father and the warriors who opposed him, taking control of the clan by force. He ruled with an iron fist, pushing those close to him to fight other clans on his behalf to claim as many territories, relics, and other remnants of the fallen Empire. Rival wizards rose to challenge him, but they all fell together, for Katonn's might was beyond mortal comprehension. Using the pure arcane energy that still permeated the world for decades to come, and the ancient knowledge he had managed to obtain, Katonn learned to manipulate time itself. His spells aged his enemies in seconds, turning them to dust and causing others to flee in terror rather than face such a sinister fate. Before long, he ruled much of eastern Teleria and was dubbed the Overlord. Katonn's experiments to escape the grip of time were less successful. He indulged in necromancy and the dark arts, gradually twisting his body as his soul had been. It is not known exactly how far he managed to sink, but legend has it that brave young warriors of his clan rose up against the tyranny of Katonn and overthrew him. This same legend says that although the body of the dark Overlord was thrown to the ground and buried deep in the mountains, he was not truly dead and was simply trapped, languishing in undeath and waiting for his chance to escape. take his revenge.
