Perceneige's Story (Frostbringer)

The figure of the Frostbringer, sometimes known as the Snow Maiden, only appears in Sir Nicholas' tales three centuries ago. It is said that she was a warrior raised by the Holy Order – one of the legendary Maidens of the Temple – and had a vision of a great pillar of light rising above an ancient glacier and scorching the darkness. Coming out of her sleep, the young girl knew what she had to do. Gathering her spear and armor, she ventured into the frozen lands that lay beyond the walls of her monastery to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Sir Nicholas. The dangers were many, the enemies deadly. But thanks to her skill and her faith, the courageous young woman fought to overcome them. She defeated the frost-skinned trolls that sought to fend off the intruder, purged the undead that emerged from beneath the snow, guided by the dark will of Shadow, and braved fearsome mountains on her way to her goal. Even the fearsome drakes failed to dampen his resolve. Then she saw it – the mighty fortress of stone and ice rising above the horizon. Beaten and wounded, she continued on her way, for no fatigue could stop her when the goal was in sight. She walked for three days and three nights, sinking in snow up to her waist, and only reached the steps of the fortress when the full moon of the third night shone above her head. She collapsed, but the light of Lumaya's servants did not go out so easily. Sir Nicholas himself stepped forward to raise the brave maiden, and with the Arbiter's blessing she was granted eternal life. Ever since that fateful night, the Frostbringer has remained a loyal companion and friend to all of Sir Nicholas' band of champions.
