Ballad masters know that a legendary hero often deserves this title not just because of their skill and courage – important as that is! – but also because it responds to a greater call. Whether it's timely divine intervention or a twist of fate that leads them to greatness. For Trunda Giltmallet, fate had a mystery to solve. A hopeful young apprentice blacksmith, Trunda had come across a collection of strange ore nuggets during a mining expedition. The ancient dwarves claimed that these nuggets must have come from somewhere beyond the realms of Teleria. And indeed, they were nothing like anything she had seen before, harder than steel and buzzing with hidden power. No hammer could break them, no foundry had enough heat to bend this mysterious metal to its will. The magical properties of the ore were evident, and Trunda had spent more than a decade taking lessons from the finest craftsmen in the Dwarven kingdom before achieving his ends. With dragon bone dust and alchemical fire, with rune-encrusted implements and water from the purest mountain streams, Trunda forged a mighty mallet from starmetal ore. Siroth's invading hordes provided the final ingredient, and with a droplet of demonic blood, the magic that lived within the metal was unleashed. His new weapon in hand, Trunda joined his kin in repelling their hated foe. Each strike sounded like a clap of thunder, hurling arcs of lightning at the demons and engulfing them with the fires of the Prime Forge. Trunda's fury and skill were such that the king himself praised the young warrior and threw a feast in her honor. Now, with Siroth's minions on the run, Trunda is dedicated to shipping the king to the surface. She is a hero to her people, and a thirst for adventure fills her spirit. Surely there are still plenty of feats worthy of Trunda Giltmallet's budding legend - and she's determined to find them.
