History of Turvold

Turvold's birth is shrouded in mystery. Some believe he was born to a hermit witch and a giant, a rumor that earned him the rather fitting nickname “Giantson.” The rest of his youth is marked by tall tales, most of them told by Turvold himself. It is said that he was discovered as a child by a group of Norse hunters deep in the forest and adopted by one of them.

His strength and unnatural resilience enabled him to become, in due course, the most respected warrior in the tribe. It is said that he single-handedly killed a terrible Wyrm that had terrorized the region for over a hundred years. It was in the Wyrm's hoard that he found a powerful sword, imbued with the cold of winter by the great blacksmiths of old.

Driven by a desire to prove himself, Turvold traveled the country as a mercenary for several decades and made a name for himself serving the nobles of Kaerok and Aravia. Although he is over a century old, the giant blood that flows through his veins allows him to remain as powerful as he was in his youth. Made wise by age, he has become as cunning in battle as he is strong, able to exploit his enemies' weaknesses and deliver terrifying blows that make the ground itself tremble.
