WhatsApp offers No button to completely disable calls, but you can regain control in just a few seconds.
On android as on iPhone, management Settings > Privacy > Calls to choose who can call you and mute the unknown numbers.
You can also block a specific contact or enable the Do Not Disturb mode.
To be avoided at all costs : third-party apps such as GBWhatsApp, which could result in your account being permanently banned.
How to Manage and Block WhatsApp Calls
Silence calls from unknown numbers
This is the most effective solution against unwanted calls. Available since late 2022, it silences the ringtone for any unregistered number. The call still appears in your history, but your phone isn't ringing anymore.
- Open WhatsApp and go to Settings or on your profile at the bottom.
- Press Privacythen on Call.
- Enable the option Silent Mode (Unknown Numbers).
Block a contact so you no longer receive calls from them
If a specific number keeps calling you, the blockage This is the most drastic method. Once blocked, that contact can no longer call you, send you messages, or access your profile photo.
- Start a conversation with the person in question.
- Tap their name at the top of the screen to view their profile.
- Scroll down and select Block the contact, then confirm.

A warning before using third-party apps
Some websites recommend apps such as GBWhatsApp or older versions of WhatsApp to block calls.

On top of that, they expose your personal information to real security risks. Stick with the official app and its privacy features.
Disabling WhatsApp calls on Android
Use Do Not Disturb mode
To block calls WhatsApp temporarily (while working, at night, during a meeting), the Android's Do Not Disturb mode is the best option. It mutes notifications from all apps, WhatsApp understood.
- Open the Settings on your device.
- Go to Sounds and Vibrations Where Notifications depending on your model.

Outdated versions and third-party applications: best avoided
We sometimes see two solutions circulating that are intended to completely disable the calling feature. Both pose real security issues:
- Install an older version of WhatsApp : No longer needed. Obsolete versions no longer receive security patches and may be rejected by the servers.
- Use GBWhatsApp or any modified third-party app: strongly discouraged. These unauthorized apps may cause the permanent ban from your account, in addition to exposing your personal information.
So stay on the official privacy settings. They're all you need to manage your calls without putting your account at risk.
Disabling WhatsApp calls on iPhone
Manage call notifications in the app
You can disable only the call alerts, without blocking anyone. Open Settings then Notifications in WhatsApp, and adjusts the ringtone and call alerts.
On iOS, calls WhatsApp go through the native calling system on the device. So turning off notifications in Settings isn't always enough.
Use Do Not Disturb mode
the Do Not Disturb mode (also known as Do Not Disturb) reduces notifications, alerts, and calls during a selected time period. It is the most reliable solution on iPhone to avoid interruptions.
- Drag from the top right corner to open the control center.
- Tap the icon shaped like a crescent moon to turn on the mode.

Combine this setting with the Focus Mode for reliable results. Incoming calls come through silently, and you retain full control over your notifications.
Choose who can call you on your iPhone
