the Goblu is the second boss of Clair Obscur : Expedition 33, whom I met at the end of the’Suspended Ocean during the’Act I, developped by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive.

To defeat it, quickly destroy its flowers before they granted him additional shields, then triggers the Overloading Gustave at the right moment to break it.

Where is Goblu located in the Suspended Ocean?

You come across the Goblu right after meeting the Conservative. As you approach the wreck of a ship from an expedition that set out before yours, you discover this giant creature hidden among the flowers in the area. On the map, its location corresponds to the pictogram of a horned skull, as shown in the image below.

What are Goblu's fighting mechanics?

This battle marks the arrival of a new character skilled in single-target combat: Maelle. It’s also a real challenge, and the most important thing to keep in mind before diving in: the Goblu is vulnerable to Thunder.

Here's how it behaves during combat:

He launches a area attack that hits 3 times in a row. Get ready to dodge or block every blow.
It can concentrate a powerful attack targeting a single character, which can deal a huge amount of damage if you don't dodge it.
He regularly cites red and blue flowers on the field. That's its key mechanic.

These flowers have a core, which is their weakness. You must aim your shots at these cores to destroy them. As long as a flower remains alive, the Goblu gains additional shields and increases its damage. The longer you wait to clear the flowers, the harder it becomes to break the boss.

Tips for beating Goblu?

Once you understand how it works, the Goblu becomes much easier to handle. This strategy is based on three priorities: exploiting its weaknesses, quickly eliminating the flowers, and striking at the right moment.

Make the most of its Vulnerability to Lightning : Maelle and Gustave both have Basic Lightning Skills effective on this boss.
The burns are still very useful for dealing continuous damage. You can stack them with Lune and Maelle over time.
As soon as the Goblu summons his red and blue flowers, target their core as a priority before returning to the boss.
Keep the Overloading Gustave for a decisive moment, rather than wasting it at the start of the fight.
