Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: How to Defeat the Paintress?

The Painter is waiting for you at the top of the Monolith, at the end of Act II of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Here are the main attacks you should be aware of for the Phase I :

• The Painteress fires 7 projectiles of Chroma. Each player targets a character. If two projectiles hit the same target, that character is stunned.

What tricks can you use to easily beat La Peintresse?

The Painter has no elemental weaknesses or resistances. So you can play whichever characters you want for this battle. Maelle and Verso are still the best choices for DPS. They deal heavy damage to a single target and speed up each phase.

Here are some tips, listed in order of priority, for defeating the Paintress at the top of the Monolith.

Managing the Curse in Phase II

Phase II casts a curse on your party that can knock a character down. Focus on this threat first.

• Each orb destroyed reduces the curse on the character who broke it. Spread the damage across the entire team so that no one exceeds the critical threshold.
• The "Glow of Healing" ability from Moon Removes debuffs from a character.
• Keep a dodge or a parry ready when facing Chroma's waves.

Unlock the boss and Maximize Your Damage

• Use Gradient Attacks. The one from Verso Apply a mark that boosts your next attacks.
• Each character has a skill that can fracture the Painteress. A pictogram also allows you to fracture her with basic attacks.
