How to get to the Chaussée Royale cave?

The Cavern of the Chaussée Royale in Elden Ring is located west of Limgrave, northwest of the church in Elleh: it is a hidden underground cave whose entrance can be spotted by an opening in the ground, near the road.

To get there, head to this waypoint from the nearest Grace Site, then descend into the dungeon. This dungeon is accessible in the base game, even before the additional content. Shadow of the Erdtree.

Once inside the cave, you’ll face a variety of enemies (soldiers and wizards) before reaching the boss that guards the place, a World Tree Funeral Guardian.

The Cavern of the Chaussée Royale is a cave located in the Limgrave region, in Elden Ring.

It's an area that's easy to miss: its entrance is hidden, and many players walk right past it while exploring. Here's how to get there and make your way inside the cave without going in circles.

To get there, find the site of grace closest to the caves along the Chaussée Royale, then follow the road.

You enter through an opening in the ground along the cliff—you'll have to look carefully to find it. Once inside the cave, you'll encounter enemies to defeat and several items to collect as you make your way toward the back.

Items to be recovered from the chaussée Royale cavern

Guide to the chaussée Royale cavern

To enter this cave in’Elden Ring, a flashlight is highly recommended because it is very dark inside. Go down to the lower platform, then continue down from platform to platform.

You'll go through a short tunnel that leads to a small area with a hole in it. A Golden Rune is hidden in a side cave (1). Continue down to reach the lower levels of the Caves of the Chaussée Royale.

Once you're downstairs, take the lower path: the upper one is just a dead end, while the lower passage is home to wolves.

Drive past the barrels on the left and keep going to find a corpse carrying’Arteria (x3). Watch out—a wolf will pounce on you from behind as soon as you pick up the loot. Go down further to face more wolves and collect some Incendiary Grease.

Get ready before you take on the boss in the Royal Road Caverns: the Guardian of the World Tree. Once you've defeated this boss, you'll gain access to the Site of Grace and can retrieve the Talisman de la Danseuse Bleue.

The cave also contains a Shamshir (a curved saber) lying next to a corpse, as well as a forge stone that will come in handy for upgrading your weapons at the forge early in the game.
