Troll Candles are one of the unique items you can acquire while playing Hogwarts Legacy, but they can be quite difficult to find. The main story of the game is that of a fifth year student who has just entered Hogwarts school. It looks rather ordinary, but quickly turns into a very risky adventure, where the most cunning enemies can arise at any time.
That's why it's common to come face to face with these dangerous characters while exploring the vast world of Hogwarts Legacy. It might seem safer to avoid combat, but sometimes it's worth fighting certain opponents as it allows you to get unique items, like troll bogies in this case. We will see how to acquire them in Hogwarts Legacy.

What is a troll bogie?
It's surely a familiar term for Harry Potter fans who have seen the part of the movie where Ron said it in disgust upon seeing that it had covered Harry's wand. (When Harry puts his wand in the troll's nose).
In Hogwarts Legacy, troll bogies appear to look the same, but they can now be used for potion brewing. They are used to prepare the Potion of Invisibility and are therefore very important items for those who have a preference for stealth. Moreover, the potion of invisibility has some advantages over the spell of disillusion, even if the latter allows to obtain the same effects.
Who sells troll bogies?
If you would like to know how to get them quickly and inexpensively, the best method is to buy them from the J. Pippin Potion Shop in Hogsmeade. The selling price is barely 100 galleons, which allows you to get a number of them quite easily if you're willing to spend some money.
Unfortunately, obtaining Trolls Bogeys through J. Pippin's potions shop is not very reliable, as it has a limited supply. If you want to get more troll bogies than J. Pippin has in stock, you better venture into the wizarding world in search of trolls.
How to find trolls
Facing Trolls isn't very common, but they are guaranteed to spawn in certain locations, which can make collecting their bogies much less of a pain. When J. Pippin runs out of them, you'll have to go out into the world in search of troll lairs. These lairs are indicated on the map by an inverted triangle, within which is a black and white image of a cave opening. But not all of the signs refer to troll lairs, so be sure to hover over each sign to make sure you've found the right spot.
You'll find two troll lairs in Feldcroft, and another near Weightear Castle. Upon entering these locations, you will be prompted to fight and defeat a troll. These fights can be quite difficult, as the Trolls hit very hard, but as long as you dodge the red attacks and are ready to parry the incoming rocks, the fight shouldn't last too long. By defeating a troll, it can drop up to three bogeys, but the number can change.
