Release date for Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen
Season 3 has been available since January 8, 2026 on Crunchyroll. The episodes are released in simulcast simultaneously with Japan, on the same day as the Japanese broadcast.
This season adapts the story arc of the deadly manhunt (the Culling Game) from the manga by Gege Akutami.
It has a total of 24 episodes, broken down into two sets of 12, a structure we've already seen in other recent series. The figures of 26 or 48 episodes that are sometimes cited are incorrect: the first came from an old estimate, and the second corresponds to the total number of episodes in the entire series.
The first part covers the dissemination of January 2026, the second is scheduled for later.
As in previous seasons, the entertainment is provided by the Studio Mappa. The studio is juggling several major projects at once, including the sequel to Chainsaw Man, which partly explains the delay between Season 2 and this sequel.

What to Expect for Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen ?
Spoiler alert! If you haven't seen the end of Season 2 yet, you'd better stop reading here.
Season 2 ended on a brutal cliffhanger: the invasion of Shibuya The plagues cause chaos and the deaths of several major characters. The declaration of Yuta Okkotsu in relation to Yuji Itadori, at the end of this arc, leads directly into the next one.
Season 3 kicks off with two shorter story arcs before diving into the main story arc:
- The Execution of Yuji : Yuji, sentenced to death by high-ranking officers, sees his fate called into question after Shibuya.
- Preparations for the Hunt : The survivors band together and discover the rules of the macabre game that awaits them.
These two arches then open onto the grand arch of the deadly manhunt (the Culling Game), where exorcists are trapped in a deadly tournament orchestrated by Kenjaku.
Participants must kill each other to earn points. The season therefore adapts three arches in total, which fully justifies the 24 episodes. For comparison:
- Season 1 : 24 episodes
- Season 2 : 23 episodes
To avoid spoiling the surprise for those who haven't read the manga, we'll leave it at that regarding the plot—just as we do with series like Demon Slayer Where Naruto, whose sequels are also highly anticipated.
Return of old characters and appearance of new ones
Season 3 brings you back to the exorcists who survived the tragedy of Shibuya. Headlining the show, you'll see Yuji Itadori, the host of Sukuna, as well as Megumi Fushiguro.
The fate of Nobara Kugisaki remains unclear following the events of the previous arc, which continues to fuel fan theories.
This season's big comeback is Yuta Okkotsu, which occupies a central position in the arc of the Culling Game.
With Satoru Gojo Now that the seal has been broken, it is these young wizards who are leading the fight against the scourges orchestrated by Kenjaku.
"The Deadly Hunt" also introduces new characters:
- The members of the clan Kamo and the wizards with their time-honored techniques, who were teased in previous seasons.
- Fumihiko Takaba, a new contestant whose surprising fighting style is making a lasting impression.
- Participants forcibly recruited for the hunt, each with a unique fighting style.
So you'll find your favorite exorcists pushed to their limits, while discovering a whole new cast of characters who redefine the stakes of the series.
Which platform to watch the third season on?
Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen looks at himself in Crunchyroll, the streaming service that has already released the first two seasons. The episodes are released on simulcast, on the same day as in Japan, first in Original Version with French Subtitles then in VF. This simulcast is available everywhere except Asia.
Side Netflix, nothing has been confirmed for this new season. Previous seasons eventually made it to some countries, but well after their initial broadcast. So it’s best to bet on Crunchyroll to follow the rest of the event live and not miss any announcements.
