Bâtonneur's story

The Bâtonneurs are a small but unique guild of warriors who have carved out a place for themselves in dwarven society. They eschew the heavy armor favored by their kin and wear their hair in a style clearly influenced by foreign traditions, which is almost unthinkable for a dwarf worthy of the name.

Their weapon of choice is also unusual: a two-handed staff with two crowns similar to those of a mace. They wield it with great precision, deflecting and counterattacking in a frightening flurry of blows. Legend has it that the guild's founder, an adventurer whose name has long been lost to history, traveled far and wide, learning what he could about different cultures and their methods of warfare.

However, none captivated him as much as the martial arts of the mysterious Orient, a land said to lie far beyond the cursed Brimstone Pass and the stormy seas that separate the continents. Upon his return, the daring adventurer wanted nothing more than to share his knowledge so that his people could grow. Although the isolationist tendencies of the dwarves made the task difficult, he eventually founded a guild of warriors that would pass on his teachings through the centuries.
