History of Bad-el-Kazar
Les histoires d’un puissant nécromancien connu sous le nom de Bad-el-Kazar ont longtemps été chuchotées à travers Teleria. C’est une figure de l’ombre, un cerveau qui préfère agir par l’intermédiaire de pions et de serviteurs involontaires plutôt que d’affronter ses ennemis en personne. Même lorsqu’il est contraint d’intervenir directement sur le terrain, il reste derrière les lignes de ses “alliés” et fait appel à la puissance d’une terrible magie.
Les origines de Bad-el-Kazar sont entourées de mystère et beaucoup de choses ont été perdues à cause de ses propres efforts. Le nécromancien préfère qu’il en soit ainsi, car moins ses ennemis en savent, plus il est facile de les déconcerter et de les induire en erreur. Mais il y a suffisamment de raisons de croire qu’il a été un Mage Blanc, au service de Lumaya et de l’Ordre Sacré. Au fil des ans, l’attrait des connaissances interdites a poussé Kazar de plus en plus loin sur une voie obscure, et sa soif de pouvoir s’est avérée être sa perte.
Lorsque Kazar chercha à percer les mystères de la vie et de la mort, il se tourna vers l’art ignoble de la nécromancie. Il collectionna en secret une multitude d’artefacts obscurs, apprenant d’eux jusqu’à ce que son âme soit aussi tordue et flétrie que les pages de ses livres de sorts. Hélas, son intelligence et sa puissance restaient aussi vives que jamais, et le Seigneur des Ténèbres Siroth ne manqua pas l’occasion de s’attacher les services d’un adepte aussi puissant.
Ses serviteurs chuchotaient dans les rêves de Kazar, le guidant vers des profondeurs de damnation toujours plus grandes. Finalement, Bad-el-Kazar disparut, effaçant autant de traces de sa vie passée qu’il le put. Guidé par des visions, il se rendit sur le chemin de Brimstone, où un grand portail avait été oublié pendant des siècles. Kazar devait s’assurer que le portail serait rouvert pour permettre aux redoutables armées de Demonspawn d’entrer dans Teleria.
En échange, il obtiendrait une vie éternelle et une puissance inouïe. Kazar accepta les termes du marché et se lança dans les royaumes mortels, héraut du mal de Siroth. Mais qui peut dire si le nécromancien est vraiment la marionnette de puissances qui le dépassent, ou si sa ruse et son ambition ne visent qu’à mener à bien ses propres projets infâmes…
