Gwynneth's Story
Assassins play a crucial role in the brutal order that the Dark Elves established after their exile from the lands of Aravia. They put an end to political rivalries and settle disputes. They eliminate unwanted voices that go against the will of the Highborn and ensure that only the most cunning reach the top.
It takes dedication and the talent of a natural killer to become a true master, whose services will be valued by the noble houses of Durham. Gwynneth has known no other life. She was sold to an underground guild of blades when she was just a child and spent her youth undergoing grueling training.
The guild saw her potential, and its cruel masters did not hesitate to turn the young girl into a living weapon. None of their other apprentices showed such skill with the spear, nor such a willingness to kill in cold blood when ordered to do so. By the time Gwynneth reached adulthood, she was little more than a dagger in elven form: passionless, cold, and ruthless.
She donned a silver mask during her initiation, concealing her face from the world and becoming a perfect infiltrator. For years, Gwynneth posed as a servant, a traveling minstrel, or a merchant to deceive her victims, and it was far too late to flee when she revealed her true nature. It was far too late to flee when she revealed her true nature.
No one ever lived to tell the tale. Although invisible, Gwynneth's reputation grew along with the price of her services. The unthinkable happened when the Blade Guild accepted a contract to kill the heiress of a rising noble family.
They chose Gwynneth for this task, and she had managed to infiltrate the house under the guise of a nanny. However, as she waited for the perfect opportunity to carry out her mission, Gwynneth realized that she did not have the heart to kill a young girl. But the Guild would never let her betrayal go unpunished—she had to strike first to ensure her own safety and that of the child she had refused to murder. Fortunately for Gwynneth, news of her escape had not yet reached the Guild masters, and her reputation was such that she managed to return to the hideout without arousing suspicion at first.
The ensuing massacre was terrible to behold, and at its height, Gwynneth found herself facing her former mentor. Neither spoke a word—their language was that of steel. The confrontation was brief and brutal; though wounded and exhausted, Gwynneth emerged victorious.
Yet even though most of the Blades lay dead at her feet, Gwynneth's revenge was far from over. The so-called family that had sold her into slavery had a lot to answer for, and those who had hired her to kill a child were still at large. With renewed determination, Gwynneth retrieved an enchanted dragon scale breastplate from the guild armory and ventured out into the night once more.
